You can probably set the whole thing up (including the pig) for less than $50, unless you go way overboard with a fancy cage and toys.
The ongoing cost of food and bedding is small, but the time investment is real and you shouldn't do this if you're not sure you're up to it. Guinea pigs are fantastic pets and have more personality than most people realize.

It's really not recommended that you keep guinea pigs in store bought cages! They need some space to roam around. You could make your own cage for a pretty cheap price check out this site:
www.cavycages.com
Hay, Pellets, and veggies. I would say you'll be paying about 10-20 bucks a month.
For all the foods they need check out these two sites:
www.cavyspirit.com
www.cavymadness.com
Please consider adopting guinea pigs! Check out www.petfinder.com. There are many unwanted pigs out there. Getting two is even better seeing as they are herd animals and enjoy each other's company. Some shelters even ask that you take two guinea pigs if they have lived together for a long time. Two females together is good. Two males are iffy, it really depends if they were brought up together. A male and a female is a NO.
Good luck

a DECENT cage is going to cost you at least 60 dollars. i can't quote you an exact price on the hay and the food but i'm sure you'll spend about 20 dollars a week on food for him/her. the water bottle will cost about 8 dollars and the food dish about 5 dollars. bedding for the cage will cost you around 20 dollars for a large enough bag for maybe three cage cleanings. having small pets like guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and rats can be pretty expensive when you take the vet bills into consideration. i don't know if guinea pigs are generally healthy animals or not but if you're looking to get an inexpensive pet then you're out of luck. to PROPERLY care for any animal is expensive.

Under $100 for the cage, food, bedding. The animal depends where you get it from. Just make sure you DO NOT USE AT ALL HAY. MAKE SURE YOU USE WOOD CHIPS. also make sure it is in a warm place. Follow those 3 things and it will live. Dont and it would die later

It all depends on how much you have or are willing to spend. We used to have a guinea pig when I was young. We didn't have a whole lot of extra money, but it wasn't hard for us to afford.

You might do some window shopping. Go to several places and price all these things that you are inquiring about.
