When is the male ok to go back in with the females after they have a litter? I found out my male was eating the babies, and have him separated right now. The babies are starting to get fuzzy but are still at the pinky stage. 7-8 of them out of 1 or both females.
At what point will he most likely not eat them anymore?
Do most male mice eat the babies? If need be, I can feed him out and get another male.

Why do I have a thumbs down? And I wasn't plannin on putting the males together, the cannabalizing one would get fed to my snake. Maybe I should have posted in reptiles....

Can someone at LEAST answer the question so I can give a best answer?? All the posts were either: females eat the babies, which is not the problem in my case, males will fight- they weren't going to get put together, and how to not have babies- I want them to have babies....As for the post to leave the male in for 3 weeks after she has babies- he ATE 3 litters the day they were born, as I stated in the question.
If someone just answers WAIT or something like that , will get a best answer.

Do not put the male in with any type babies!
Also do not put in with younger male as he will fight with it, best to leave separate until babies have gone

after they have a litter? you do know that the mommy mouse can get pregnant again, right? mice are territorial. do not put male mice together. sometimes it`s ok if they`re related or if they have been raised together. but if you take daddy mouse away from his mousie babies, he will not recognize their smell. what you should`ve done is left the dad with the mom at least 3 weeks until after she`s had her babies. keep in mind you do risk having another litter right afterwards. once the babies are 3 weeks old you can separate the boys from the girls. leave the girls with mom and the boys with dad. he`ll be able to recognize that they are his family and will not attack them

btw, male mice usually don`t eat their own young. i`s usually the female

i think you should wait until they are at least 1 year old then see how they react with the father and mother in the same cage with the babies
