Saturday I am taking my horse to a thing throuhg 4-h to put us into groups of beginer intermediete and advanced for lessons. I havent really gotten the chance to ride her that much(when we first got her her feet were all cracked and she was VERY overweight) but i have done alot of ground work with her(we have had her since spring). She is very distrustful of people besides me and my mom. She does have alot of experience, just her last owner didnt ever use her so she just basically got food and didnt really get any attention. She is a kicker, so im a bit nervous about all the other horses, especially since i havent ridding her with other horses around.

So heres the question: Is there anything I can do to helop get her ready and keep her as calm as possible when there? I am really only gonna get to ride once this week and we jsut brought our horses home from where we boarded them so we dont have an area yet, just a paddock, so I wont be able to do much more than a slow trot

Many people who work in animal shelters are paid to do so, many volunteer their time. Do you think it's wrong to take payment from an animal rescue organization and that people should be volunteering their time instead?

You don't know when hamsters will pee and all.
I have hamsters too, and I do want to let them out of the cage once in a while, but then I don't know if they gonna pee on the carpet.

Hi all, I was looking after some goats for my friend and one froze to death. One of the goats was chained to a tree so it wouldnt wander into the woods. When I found the goat dead the chain was wraped around the tree several times and tangled up. After I had seen the dead goat and left it their for the night, I went back the next night to get the other goat. When I got there the dead goat was gone. The goat had a chain around its neck and the chain was fastend to the tree so it couldnt come loose. I found the chain on the ground next to the tree, the chain had been untangled from the tree and detached, the latch part of the chain that was around the goats neck had been unlatched. There were cougar tracks in the snow near the pin and bear tracks farther out on the property. There was no evidence that an animal had taken it. The chain looks as if it were carefully untangled from the tree and goat and thrown on the ground. What do you think could have done it?

So after all the answers from my other questions about my mice i took them apart yesterday. While i was cleaning out the cage today i put them together one bit the other and drew blood i immediatley took them apart, the mouse that bit the other is the only one causing problems, the mouse that got bit never fights with the other mouse and runs from him when he is bitten should i take my dominant mouse back to the petstore ? i have a fourteen day return on him and ive only had him for a week. and should i get another one because the ONLY reason i even got two is so they could play together i do not want two seperate mice that is just pointless. They are Both Male. and i dont want to take them both back i love my mice and i dont want to take them both back and get females. I heard females are dominant also. I just dont know what to do.. any suggestions. No dumb answers please.

Hello. My husband and I are moving to Hawaii at the end of this year. We have two cats and a dog-a Dashound. We are really concerned about what it's going to cost us to bring our babies with us. We know about the quarintine laws that they have. Now we need to know costs for getting them to their new home. We live in Washington state and will be flying into Honolulu. Does anyone know where I can find some really good info with prices so that we can start saving. Thanks in advance, we really appreciate it!

Hi, I am soon moving to a new state when I graduate from college, and I want to get a pet because I will be living alone in an apartment, but I don't want one that is a lot of hassle. I wanted to get a dog, but I have heard they are really high maintenance. If I got a dog it would have to be small, protective, and sweet and loving at the same time. Any ideas? Also, I really am not experienced with dogs and have never owned one before, so should I get one? I will be working full time, so my other thought was a cat might be better for me. I am unsure which animal to get, and where to go to get one. Animal shelters I believe are the best bet, but yet I want to get a baby dog or cat...should I look for owners who are selling their babies? Anyway, what do you all think..a dog or a cat?!

He didn't fall or get dropped, so I think what happened was he had a stroke. He can't use his back legs, and he can't push poop out. I have to put gloves on and dig poop out several times a day. I love him and don't mind doing this, but he seems to be very uncomfortable because the poop builds up there really fast, and I don't always get to him before the poop has built up. Plus, since he can't walk it is sad to see him drag himself across his cage. Should I keep him alive, or would it be best to put him down?

We currently started our new business for pet services, 4 Friendly P.A.W.S. [Professional Animal Walking Services]. Since we are still new, I wondered if anyone knows a good and hopefully inexpensive way to promote our new business. Does anyone know any vet's offices, pet stores or onwers that might be able to let us promote our services to them? The website is http;//4friendlypaws.tripod.com
Thank you guys and gals!
