I have a new hamster, and he was in his exercise ball and I went out of the room for a minute and when I came back there was semi thick yellow fluid in it. Would that be the hamster's urine? I'm not sure if it's supposed to be clear or have color to it. I'm worried that it may be vomit, or some sort of diarreah. He seems okay to me, but I want to know for sure.

And what's Yahoo's problem? This is the third time I've asked this, and they haven't put it up. It's a legitimate question about my new hammie. Sheesh.

Hi there. I'm considering getting a pet Chinchilla, or Ferret for my husband. He had a Chinchilla as a kid and just loved it... but I wanted to get some opinions from other people who have had them.. I have heard chinchillas are less social, and I know that he would like to hold it.. so I want to know if a Ferret would be a better idea. Of course I will read up on whichever pet we choose.. but I want some opinions first!
First off... tank, or cage? I have a 50 gallon aquarium that I have been told is an appropriate size for either of them.. but I have also seen the cages made specifically for chinchillas and ferrets that they have available at petstores. which would you recommend?
Secondly.. what should I know about either of these pets? What are the good things? what are the bad things? (Im not worried about maintinance as far as cleaning cages goes.. thats not a problem!)
thanks in advance for your answers!

I have two fancy ( male ) mice. i have had them for about a week now. They have never fought untill now. They would fight over a wheel when their is two of them, and when i work up in the morning they were fighting in thier bed that they sleep together in all the time. I know they are used to each other because i bought them together from the same cage , (they were born together). I have already seperated them i gave them each water, food, a wheel, and thier toys. Now that they are seperated they keep trying to get to each other they seemed depressed when they are apart what do i do?

I know you can keep them in an aquarium, but I don't know if mine's big enough. And what are some things and home I could use to keep them happy without buying a lot of stuff? I am getting it Monday, so I'm just getting prepared.

When she gets excited (playing, chasing us or toys…) we see a ridge of stronger hair along her back ( like a hyena!) but it doesn’t run in the opposite direction to the rest of her coat like a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Is this common in other breeds or does she really have some Rhodesian Ridgeback genes?

Sometimes when I ride my horse she seems kinda rushed. For example, she won't foucs when I trot or canter with her, she won't tuck in her head when riding and just by the way she moves I can tell she is rushing. Could it be that I always feed her hay afterwards or could it be that she wants to be with my other horse? I really don't know how to fix this problem and it has been going on for quite some time please help!

I've researched a bit into this and I know a cat needs it's whiskers for balance and to sense what kind of spaces it can fit through...but I met a woman the other day who had a single whisker of her beloved cat in her locket.

I'm wondering if it will hurt her to snip one, not close to her nose to put in mine.

I heard a lot of negative thoughts on it, is it really such torture for her? She likes when I run the back of my finger along her whiskers, should I just wait and hope one falls off?

My daughter keeps seeing chinchillas on Diego and Dora the Explorer. My husband says that you can get one as a pet, but where would you get one of these things? How much are they and how hard to take care of are they?

About 4 weeks ago our rat Spike passed away, I miss having him about the house, so I have decided to get another one, but undecided on what kind? Does anyone have a rat, if so what kind and are some more playful than others. Spike was an Agouti Hooded male.

Also serious answers only, as rats make great pets and any stupid and cruel answeres will be reported.

my dog wipes his backside on the floor, whether it be carpet or lino or wood, or even over the metal bars where the doors are,, doesnt seem to hurt him though.
what is up with that, luckily he spends all day cleaning his rear-end, so its not messy, and very funny to watch, he drags his body with his two front paws perched on his bottom, with both back legs in the air, but seriosly, what is up with that????
