I want my dog to be put with me, or nere me when i pass, but someone told me that animals can not be placed in a human cemetary???? Has anyone else heard that? I think that if you are dead then what is wrong with a pet being with you there? anyone have ideas?

There are some cemeteries that have strict rules about that, but there are many that will allow it. There are pet cemeteries everywhere, but those are for animals only. There is nothing wrong with being burried with your pet and there are others who have done this.

Yes, there are many pet cemeteries. And I don't think you can bury your pet with you. You would have to check local government regulations and your cemetery's rules.
At best, perhaps you could have your pet cremated when the time comes, and have the cremains put into your casket when your time comes. Or you could also be cremated, and both your cremains put in the same place. Again you would have to check government regulations and your cemetery's rules.
One caveat: Before selecting an animal crematory, find out the cremation procedures. Many animal crematories do mass cremations and then divide the ashes. What this means is that if you don't request an individual cremation, you may receive the cremains of other pets in addition to those of your own.

There are cemetaries for pets..our SPCA has one. I don't think you could be buried at a pet cemetary though.
I don't know if you would be able to have your pet buried next to you in a human cemetary or not...personally, I don't see why not, as long as the dog was in a casket and you paid for the burial and plot.
When my old dog goes, I am going to have her cremated and I plan on having her ashes put in my casket with me when I die. I do know of people having that done and there was no problem.

Yes there are really pet cemeteries, and No you can not have your pet buried with you it is against the law to have an animal buried on the same cemetery grounds and a human, I know this is dumb but it is the law, I worked in a cemetery for 10 years until I became disabled so I know this, what we did was this, we told the family that we do not look in the casket so what they put in it at the funeral home was there business, by the way it is also illegal to bury a person with a beer in the casket, guess they are worried about drinking and driving

In some places it can be done. Although I know most churches won't allow it. I am sure there are some kind of laws or guidelines against in most places though. A friend of my mom's was buried with his Springer Spaniel. It was in Pennsylvania, I don't know what the laws are like, private cemeteries may allow it. There are pet cemeteries, Dixie Memorial Garden is located near Memphis Tn and I know many people who have used it, the owners are great.
Personally I've had my pets cremated and when I die I am going to be cremated and have my ashes mixed with theirs and spread out at a park.

I think that if you have your dog cremated when it passe's then there is no law that says it cant be placed in the casket with you -If you inform your family of your wishes so they can place the ash's with you --but if for whatever reason they think there would be a problem they might have to sneak the ash's in and maybe under you in the casket - Now all that is if your dog passe's before you do --other wise I am not so sure they would allow ash's to be placed near you unless it were a scattering done discreetly --And yes there are Pet Cemeteries

1. Yes, pet cemetaries are real.
2. Yes, animals can be buried in human cemetaries in some scenarios.
3. I hope you don't plan on dying the same day your pet dies. You'll have to either:
a) save it's remains to be buried with you when you die
b)save your remains and bury yourself with your pet when it dies (in the case of pets that live a long time)
c) have a burial plot next to your plot for your pet

Yes there are pet cemetarys. As far as buring your pet with you i do not think so,unless they are cremated and put in a urn, and you put in writing that you wish for that urn to be buried with you.

...I cant see why they would have a problem with placing creamated ashes of your pet in the coffin with you when they bury you.. however, if the animal is alive when you die, its pretty unethical to have the dog put down just for the purpose of having it buried with you
