I am 16 years old and have been boarding a horse for about 3 months. yesterday, the owner of the horse just came and picked his horse up and left to bring him to another boarding area. he never talked to me about it as i was the one caring for his horse, instead he told my dad he was leaving because we are just too far away and he doesn't get to spend enough time with his horse. we only live 12 miles from his city and it is a straight shot on a newly paved road and we are about 1/2 a mile off the pavement. i really thought he was going to be a permanent boarder, he was a good family friend and i really grew to him and his horse, i just don't understand how he could just up and leave. there are 2 other boarders around the 30 mile radius of hutch (who advertise) and they charge about $150/month and that includes the grain and hay and cleaning and turn out of stall. i am going to advertise again for boarding. what should my flyer say? what kind of amenities are basically needed for board?

She's a 3 year old Arab and loves to chase and be chased. Will this harm our training relationship or give her bad manners? She is kept in a pipe stall surrounded by other horses, but she never gets to play freely with them. When we play she's very careful and never really gets close to me until I invite her in.

Yesterday when I looked into the gerbil's cage, I saw the one gerbil eating the other! I have no idea how the gerbil died. I'm just really freaked out that the other gerbil was eating him! When I took the body out, the "cannibal" happily moved out the way and carried on with life as if nothing happened. The body was still soft - so it had happened recently.

We had 2 males living in a cage for about 7 months already. They fought from time to time, but nothing serious - it was more playful. So I don't know if the gerbil just died naturally, or if the "cannibal" actually killed him.

Apart from being in shock, we need to figure this out before my child decides if he wants a replacement gerbil! (i.e. can the "cannibal" be trusted to share his cage? and won't he be lonely now? The 2 of them used to snuggle up together).

I just purchased a sugar glider about 3 months ago, and still to this day she will not behave like everyone says sugar gliders should. All she will do is crab when her pouch she sleeps in is touched and bite my hands when i try to pet her. Also I cannot touch her when she is running around in the cage. I have had times where i held her for serveral hours and have been very patient in getting her to bond with me but nothing seems to work. She even seems to be getting meaner. ANY suggestions. Did i just get a very mean one?

One that has died and you still miss when you think of him or her.
I still miss my Peek-a-Boo. A few years ago we moved into an apartment and when I took the trash out my 2 yr old son opened the door and let her out. She was an indoor only cat and it was our first night there. I looked and looked and looked for but I never found her.

no lectures please I know all about not letting out a cat, collars, tags, microchips etc

I bought a 5yr old appaloosa mare in july. She has already had one foal. A filly that I also bought with her. Her 1st foal was 1 yr old in aug. Now the mare is GREAT BIG and pregnant. But no one, not even her previous owner knows when she was bred because she was turned out with the stallion all last winter. And no one was around to tell if she had been bred back or not. So my ? is- other than waiting for it to be born. Or checking her milk {which she is not making as of yet} how can I tell when she is due. The foal has already moved down, It looks like she has dropped. Like a womans belly does. And the vet says sounds like she is fine and healthy and everything is normal. Any ideas or advice is aprreciated, Thanks

as she had a respiritory infection, i had her for 21 months and i am absolutely heart broken. has any one got any advice on how to get over the guilt? it was so sudden, she was fine til 7pm last night. the vet said it was the kind thing to do as she was probably suffering, but i miss her so much already.

never thought i would get so attached to such a little creature but i adored her.
