Either would be fine, but percherons tend to me more flashy and move smoother. I know more people with percherons or belgians for driving, though there are the budwieser clydes.
Personally, I love the clydesdales as well. I have a half clyde, half someother draft, that I ride 1st level dressage on, but would like to train her to pull a cart, if I could afford one, lol.
Either would probably make good carriage horses, depending on the look or style that you want. One more note: clydes do take more time to maintain because of all of the white feathers. If you don't want to deal with those in the mud, burrs, etc, I would stay away from clydes.

Clydes have more leg action than Percherons, but tend to have much poorer feet and legs than all the other draft breeds. Clydes will be flashier with their stockings, Percherons will have more endurance and strength. It's probably easier to find a well matched team of Percherons than to find a well matched Clyde team, if looks matter to you?

I have Belgians myself... love the big blondes :-)

both are good for carriage teams... most people though use clydes or belgains.... easiest to find a team would be belgains.... alot of people use them for driving so most likey find more of them around

Both would be fine but I like the Clydies best. They are such gentle giants.Good luck.
