I'll tell you what's nasty. Sometimes my bulldog will get into the cat litter, then come and try to lick me. Yuck!

Yes, but I don't make a habit of it.
I normally watch what my pets are doing. That way when they come to me after cleaning, I don't let them lick me in the face.
Of course, after your cat uses the litter box, do you let it sit in your lap? Your reaction in the question tells me that might gross you out too if you thought about it for a minute.
