I just got a Indian Ringneck Parrot just yesturday. He/She wont whistle,talk,when i perch my finger he sit for a few seconds and then flies away. Can he speak? He didnt eat so i gave him a apple by hand and held it there for a few seconds so he ate. Will he ever speak? Will he ever it on his own?

I mean come on you just got him. They have to warm up to you. If its wings are not clipped I suggest you have this done, it makes for a nicer more calm pet. Not all birds talk. Plus if it is a baby it will have to pick things up from you. Our bird talks and she is only 7 months old.

he don't talk on his own you need to get him to immitate what you say
it's like the older furby dolls they stopped prudicing them cause 2 many people taught them 2 say very nasty things
so basically spend the time with you parrot and say
"polly wanna Cracker!!!"
over and over until it learns how to say it

Give him a few days to get used to you and his surroundings. He will get better.He is just nervous about being in a new home.

if you talk alot around him or have a specific word you want him to learn he will repeat after you eventually,you have to be patient though cause it takes time

give him time. my friend bought a cockatiel and it took him a while to open up. just repeat phrases around him and dote on him.....he'll get the picture

You just got him yesterday, he probably isn't comfortable with his surroundings yet. Let him get to know you and your home first.
