I feel so bad for lesson ponies who are just thrown out into their little muddy paddocks with mud up to their knees,no blankets in the winter & no decent shelter. When it's dinner time, their hay and grain is just thrown out to them, & the people who feed them are usually paid for it and dont know the first thing about colic or colic symptoms, so the horse is practiacally floundering on the ground before anyone notices somethings wrong. Also, they're just put in a pasture together without even thinking about if the horses are going to get along. But then you go to the same barn and see the big fancy $50,000 horses who get quadrouple blanketed, the best feed and care, & big cushy stalls with plenty of shavings. Now you can post your opinion about this as you please, but i will say right here and now,THOSE LESSON PONIES WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF & ARE WORTH MUCH MORE THAN THOSE FANCY SHOW HORSES! Something has to be done, any suggetions? Please keep in mind, not all lesson barns are like this.
