Give it some warm milk, then rush to the vet.Dont forget to carry the package of the rat poison if you have it so that the vet can know the type of poison that the dog has eaten. Goodluck.

You should take him to the Vet.
Do you know what kind of poison it was? If caught early enough some times you can induse vomiting but some poison you SHOULD NOT ENDUCE VOMITING. Read the label for instruction as to what to do if poison was swallowed.
Call your local poison control and inform them as to what the poison was and they can tell you what you should do.
If it were a large breed dog he probably would not have gotten enought to kill him cause the amount of poison it took to kill the rat is not enough to kill your pet.
So using your best judgement and/or fear at least call or take pet to vet.

Just keep an eye on her and maybe you might have to call your vet for some help. Also, check the package for information on the poison and maybe a phone number to call.

try immediately to get the dog to regurgitate.... stick your finger down his/her throat. ... if too much time has passes.... get the dog ... via syringe or feed the dog a lot of water and take immediately to a vet. you need to give him/ her a lot of water to dilute the concentration of the poison and get him/her to a doctor to pump the stomach or give a tablet to let the poison pass out in the feaces/stool.
