I'd have to say both. What would happen to a homeless and naked person in the sort of place that turtles live in? they'd probably demise. A turtle would most likely face the same fate.

I'd say it's a bit of both. But the sound of it not having a shell doesn't look good for the turtle!

He is naked because his shell is his suit of armor not his home. Now a snail who loses his shell is both naked and homeless.

Dead. The shell also holds the rig cage, so to take the turtle out of its shelf is also partially to fillet it.
