Depends on what you are using the horse for. Quarter horses are excellent for roping and speed events. Arabs have a nice gait and are very showy horses. Bashicur Culys are cool too. Research the breeds and pick what best suits your needs and where you live. Best of luck with your horse!

Quarter horses are generally calmer and safer than most. Arabians are very pretty but can be flighty and hold their heads high so quiet hands are a must. However, it is possible to find a quiet arabian (my friend has one). I don't know much about Curlys but my suggestion would be a quarter horse. Go to dreamhorse.com, click search and fill in the search criteria. Good luck!

My peronal prefrence are Quarter Horses. They tend to be even tempered and can just do it all! I have owned Arabians in the past. They are very majestic, but finding one that isn't flighty seems nearly impossible (unless you get a real old one). Curlys are cool looking. Our neighbor have one. He's real smart and seems to be a quick learner for the most part. There is group of vaulters that reside in my town and I know one of the girls rides a curly. Good luck and may I suggest research enough that you get the proper horse for you.

Since you are asking this question I am going to assume you don't have very much experience with horses, either riding or handling. I would say take lessons first, a lot of lessons and get a quarter horse or better yet a quiet gaited horse. Quarter horses are normally quiet but you need to be aware of the HYPP problem they have as well. Do not buy a quarter horse unless they have tested negitive for this. Arabs are nice horses, but not for most people. You have to have a quiet head and hands for this breed. They are very smart and quick to learn. At the same time they can be very excitable earily. THINK first before you buy! Take lessons.

To me it would all depend on the different price ranges . As you probably know, Q. horses can range between $200 to $10,000 and up . A . horses are very expensive . Yeah , they ride good and their pretty to look at but hey , they are extremly expensive .

Here is something you could do :

Search out on google for horse adoption and fostering . There are organizations that would / will let farm owners and land owners ( the responsible, smart kind ) put horses out on there land for little or no price .

I have searched it out myself , its neat what you can find . I am a big horse lover myself and I was considering fostering or adopting a horse or two .

I <3 Arabians, but it depends what you are going to use the horse for (just trails, racing, etc.)

It depends on what your going to do with your horse, but i prefer a quarter horse for the type of work i do. I farm and run cattle. They usually have a lot of cow sense and are quick for a short distance like a calf. They are pretty stout for roping.

depends. what is your skill level? arabians genearlly require a more experienced, steady rider, quarter horses are good for any level. they are steady, sane, sound, can be ridden for a very long time...good stamina. joints can go bad sometimes though. curlys are really cute, but i dont know much about them. my qh/morgan is really steady, loyal, and freinldy. i would reccomend a mix such as that to any skill level. good luck!! :)
