It's an automatic feeder that will feed your dog for 8 days. Do you think there are people who are leaving their dog alone with this gizmo for 8 days and hoping everything works out okay?

SCARY!!!

We are considering giving her 50 mg of benydryl .
She weighs 80 lbs.
I just bathed her paws in epsom salt and water.
We will be trying different foods.

Hi I have a 11 week old siberian husky and he has had diarrha off in on for the past 2 days (I think he got into the cat food and ate some rocks)My vet has prescribe some Forti Flora for him and it's only working a little bit to harden his stools. I'm afraid that he will get dehydrated and playing with ice from the fridge has lost some interst to him, he is drinking, but I'm not sure if it's nearly enough (doesn;t seem as much as usual) He is still energetic and is vaccinated up to date. I have read online to intise a dog to drink water is to add chicken broth in the water, but I haven't found anything if it is ok for puppies. Thank you for your imput!

I used to feed my dog with Pedigree and some human-food. But the ////// president of my country (Vzla) had the idea of fabricating our own pet food (wich sucks), so we don't import anymore and the onyl food available here is Purina and some weird "dog food" tha smells like plastic. I'm defintely not feeding her with the "plastic food", but i heard that Purina had an accident that made a lot of dogs die,,,,,is that still happening? Should i feed my dog with Purina or make her a diet with human-food (meat, vegetables,,etc.)??

He is about 8 months old..I just noticed yesterday he had a lose stool, which is not too uncommon, but after that I noticed that he had been getting blood all over, like his butt is bleeding??? I am going to feed him some rice and hamburger to help with the lose stool but I am not concerned with that right now, I am more worried about why it looks as though his butt is bleeding, when he poops now there is blood but after he's pooped he gets blood on the carpet when he sits down and what not. He is otherwise acting very normal and energetic and eating normal, and drinking water like normal. What is wrong???

I had never heard of this situation before but after hours reading & studying it, now I know it well. Our vet told us to take the puppies away from our nursing mom immediately, but I'm reading that we can supplement the milk to them, drastically reduce the nursing time permitted , try to wean them asap, and most important, adjust her diet. Does anybody have any experience with this situation ??? I realize now that the vet couldn't spend 6 hours to teach us all that we didn't know when we took our dog in to him, but now we do know and I wonder what experienced breeders do
in this situation. Do they return the pups after stabilizing the dog and correcting what caused this in the first place ?
I know now that it was diet and a predisposition of small dogs to encounter this startling and dangerous situation.
It is terrifying, I drove to the vet thinking we might lose our dog and I drove like a mad woman James Bond. So, now, can we safely return the puppies for minimal nursing ?

Like, if the pups were around 3 weeks old. Or is just better to wait until they are done nursing? She could atleast practice non-strenuous obedience though, right? I don't want her to get too far behind or forget too much.

This dog would be about six weeks along. Would the vet be able to check by just palpatating? If they did an ultrasound, what is the average cost and can it tell how many pups by six weeks? If we tried to palpatate, where do you feel and could you hurt the pups by just gently feeling???

A few days ago my dog's face got very swollen. His jowls and eyes mostly. I immediately took him to the vet and she gave him benadryl, which helped. Niether of us knew a cause. It happened again last night and I gave him benadryl, which didn't help much. I called her and she said keep an eye on him, but she still has no idea what could cause it. This morning, it happened again after I took him outside, so bad that one of his eyes was swelled shut.
I don't know what to do. I noticed it happens after I take him out to use the restroom, for the most part. I live in an apartment complex so I was thinking of asking the manager what pesticides or fertilizers they use around here. If the vet has no idea what is going on, how can I help my poor dog?

When we first got him he would go right into his crate and go to sleep. Now he hates it. At night he screams until he falls asleep and during the day he won't go anywhere near it. I have a dog bag for him and he loves that he goes right into it and falls asleep. I have put treats in the crates he won't wont go in. Any suggestions on how to let him know that the crate is a good thing. I have never punished him and put him in the crate. I was off this week so he only went in at night time. Maybe when I go back to work he may get used to it? I would leave the door open, but I am afraid he will chew my kitchen cabinets.

She has never been fixed. We think she is somehow effected by the cold weather. She doesn't want to go outside in the snow.

I treated my dog as usual with Frontline Plus 48hours ago after she had been groomed. Now I have found what seems to be fleas crawling around in her coat. They are brown in colour, very hard to catch, and difficult to kill. If these are fleas (i know they arn't ticks) why are they still bothering my dog after she's been treated? Also, can they be transferred to me?
