i take him outside every 2 hours to go potty and sometimes i'll take him for 10 mins and he does nothing,as soon as we get back in the house he takes a **** on my carpet.he also digs in the trash what do i do?

Mine is up in his golden years. Ever since deer season started my dog has been acting weird. Part of this problem was the guns. But I have never seen him this bad. He shakes real bad and just wants a place to hide. I found him in my parents' closet laying down shaking like a leaf. It used to be that he was only afraid of guns, thunder, and fireworks. You move any furniture, anything he gets skittish. I dropped a pen on the floor and you might as well thought the world ended.

Anyone help me on this? I'm lost

I want a small dog (so it won't bite) that won't need too much help taking a walk. I would like the type to be friendly and easy to train. It wouldn't need too much help "cleaning up" also.

my dog is almost 1 year old, but he has begun to bite when yelling "no" when he does something bad. we got him from the pound & they found him as a stray at 4 months. he had already been nutered, so we assume someone had him before. he has always had a trash problem, & at first we would give him spankings as advised by other dog owners, but we stoped when we saw that it wasnt really teaching him anything. we then would just yell at him & make him spend time outs in the garage. he always knows when he is doing bad things, and give us guilty look with his tail between his legs & he crouches down & crawls away. a week or so ago when dog did something really really bad, my husband threw him in the garage & went to give him a spaking, & dog but him- hard cutting my hubands hand badly. today he was digging in trash & i told him no and to go to his crate & when i went to lock it, he bit at me! i didnt touch him & he tried to bite me like 40 times. help!!!!

i got a cute little 7 week old chihuahua x shih-tzu from the pet store yesterday. she was $699 and then riduced to $230 i dont know why, she is so adorable!!! i have heaps of probs with her:
she has got kennel cough and her front left foot is limping
she is always hiding behind something
she is pooing and peeing all over my apartment
she growls at me when i pat her and when i hold her, she growls at my friends, she growls when i bend down to give her some dog food (not puppy - to expensive for me).

OK.... what do i give her for kennel cough, the pet store didnt give me anything 4 it?
what do i do for her because she is limping real bad and cries a lot when she walks???
HOW DO I TEACH HER TO GO POO IN A LITTER BOX?
why is she so shy? how do i get her to open up more?
WHY DOES SHE GOWL?

she is annoying when she barks so what can i do to get her to be quiet at night when she wakes me up?

what else do i need for her?

Earlier today around 5AM I was going to shop for black friday sales and all of that and a dog ran in front of my car and I hit him on accident. It was really dark and foggy out and I managed to slow down pretty fast to around 10-15 MPH but there wasnt really much I can do. I went back to see if he was in the road still and hopefully not dead and he wasn't so Im hoping hes fine but its killing me inside not knowing if hes okay or not since he left. My question is has anyone else hit a dog or any animal before? How long did it take to get over?

(1) Can a border collie ever be laid back and calm?
(2) How Much exercise is the right amount?
(3) How much do they cost?
(4) Is the border collie right for me?


I'm still in school. I would give up tv and computer time to train and exercise my dog. I would probably put my dog in a dog sport. I would train my dog to do tricks of all sorts. I'm not into human sports but I want to stay healthy by being active. I do not like big, scary dogs. So, is this the right breed or do I need to find another breed?

I have tried spraying my yard down everyday, but the smell is still strong. I live in a duplex with a small yard. And yes, my dog drinks plenty of water and goes outside regularly. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

My dog had allergies, the vet said to give him CLARITIN "not D" twice a day. I have since noticed he is drinking alot of water, seems depressed, his belly is hard and he's sleeping alot. Is this cause for concern or is it because he's resting and feels better now that he is not itching. He is an 87 pound shephard mix. What should I do, or am i over reacting?
