8 week old male Rottweiler, needs a name - But I dont want some daft macho dog name. Rotteilers trained well and looked after are one of the most caring family dogs to have and dont deserve the bad boy image.(unless you are trying to rob the house)

My vet prescribed 14 days of steroid's. His skin and paws are much better, but he is a pee machine! He peed in the dining room, the living room, and the stairs. I want his allergies to get better, but I can't take all of the urination. I let him out every hour, and he has been really god about asking to go out when he needs to. But, it's the overnight time period where he just can't hold it. There has to be a better way, any suggestions???

How accurate is this method? My vet said my dog was 6 months old when i found her. That was nearly 8 years ago and from my memory her teeth has not change one bit from the day i found her. She was only 21 lbs when i found her and now shes about 47lbs. Shes half dalmation and half pitt bull. Can u tell a dog by its breed and weight also?

My dog (shepard mix) is 16-17 years old. He is hard of hearing and has cloudy eyes, but the vet says otherwise he's in great shape for his age. Our concern is that he has trouble getting up after lying down for an extended amount of time. It's obvious that sometimes he has problems controlling his back legs but he can still walk and sometimes run. Is there anything I can do or give him to help him?? It kills me to see him having problems trying to get up. Sometimes he just looks at me - almost ashamed that he can't get up. I have had him for almost 16 years.

My dog is about 2 years old and he gags or something. He doesnt do it everyday but every so often he will start a gagging fit (His mouth isnt open but sound like gagging)....he will do this like 10 times or something then barf. He doesnt throw up food or anything just like yellowish liquid and with some hair. He eats well and does drink water (He also hacks up juices after drinking water too fast). But my main concern is when he does this gagging fit when NOT drinking water. Like he will just be chillin in his crate with his food bowl there with food and do this...Hes been doing this ever since I got him when he was about 6 mos old......Anyone have ANY idea what this is or what is going on? And is there a cure for it? I am getting tired of cleaning it up.

I finally decided after much thought and reaserch that a shih tzu is right for my family. Some dogs bond with many people and some choose only one person to get close to, I was wondering how the Shih Tzu is in this area. I just really want a personal opinion from people experienced with the breed.

Thank you very much,

We have always scolded him when he catch him. As soon as we take it out of his mouth (mud or clumps of grass), he will run and get another one. How do I get him to stop?

He is 18 months old and he began this obsessive licking 6 months ago. He has been to the vet 3 times, tried antibiotics 2x and antiinflamitories as well. We've tried apple bitter and other deterents and he just licks them off. We've tried a bell collar and he gets around it and ripps off his bandage to get back to his sore. He eats an all natural diet, partially raw. He gets daily vitamin supplements and salmon oil. We keep him busy with bones, toys and plenty of daily exercise. Even the vet seems at a loss. Any home or natural remedies would be appreciated as well as suggestions for my vet.

I was just wondering what the average time that it takes to housebreak a puppy. I can't really find the answer on the Web. What are people's experiences? I have a 7 week old Boxer and she seems totally clueless, is it due to her young age?
