When the Female dog is in heat.... the male dogs react... for lack of better words.... where there is a will there is a way.

Read the recent question posed by a reader....

She slept with the female in heat in one room (that female wore the doggie diapers, necessary to keep the house clean)

Her husband slept with the male dog in another room

One little 2 second slip in both doors getting open at one time & suddenly the amourous male expressed that his will was strong enough to seize the opportunity to find a way.

You are going to find out this is not only true of your male....

Don't leave her in the yard un-attended, no matter how high the fence... male dogs can scale or dig fences that you would never imagine to get to a female in heat!!!!

Best advise is to keep your female INDOORS & away from your male. Take her out only on a leash & be prepared for approaches from urgent behaviored & potentially aggressive male dogs.

If you don't kennel him somewhere else you can keep him or her kenneled and always in separate rooms. But you're going to live with him howling, barking, whining, lifting his leg, and she's also going to be whining and howling when she's ready to be bred.
