I recently (couple weeks ago) adopted a 'black lab' from my friend's family. They were gonna bring her to the pound, and I couldn't let that happen...
But the whole time, I've just been wondering if she's really a black lab or not... My friend and her mom said that Nighque's dad was a yellow/white/ lab and her mom was a chocolate lab. I've compared pictures of her with other black labs on the net, and they don't look quite he same. The labs on the net are more filled out with thicker hair and a big body. Nighque's long and lanky. I've also seen lab MIXES that look exactly like her... She's about 1 1/2-2 years old. So, does anyone know if she's a pure lab or not? And yes, I know, she's skinny. That's b/c my friend's family didn't feed her enough and she was REALLY skinny before I got her. Just trying to get her weight back up... (And yes, I know, I still need to clip her nails) =P

I know that he would be a totally different dog if he still had his balls and I'm glad he is neutered. I just feel bad because he will die a virgin. Isn't that sad?

my puppy purposely dumps his water bowl, then tries to drink from an empty bowl. Why does he do this?
Also, he eats the chickens poop? Do you think that is bad for him?
The chickens run around all day, there is really no way to stop him all the time from eating it. They also steal his puppy food. It is so nasty, but I can't go around cleaning the grass!

My boss practices law and has his own office. I am his only employee. He has a dog that he takes to work everyday, who is just 2 years old, very active, and jumps at all the clients that come in. Besides this whole scene, it has a very strong smell. I can see people getting annoyed but my boss just doesn't seem to care.

I will give one example...this morning I left for work putting the pup in his crate with his bed and toys. I was gone for one hour and when I arrived home I could still hear him crying or even screaming...I get to my room and look at the crate...its empty...he escaped and he had somehow jumped onto my bed (he can NEVER usually jump that high) and he was stuck in the blinds barking out the window with his paw tangle up in them as well....my room had been trashed and he even had been up on top of my dresser...how can he jump so high?? After I untangled him from his prison he was frantic...panting...bouncing...crazy. I was only gone for an hour...I left work because I wasnt feeling well....and what if I would have not come back so soon...he might be dead. How can I control him...? Should I just get a babysitter...It seems after many tries something just like this always happens...what should I do???

I bring him outside right after eating, and he craps. I take him for a walk, and he craps. Then I bring him into the hosue, and as soon as I turn my back, he craps again. If I leave him outside, he wimpers and cries. He is a 17 week old American Eskimo/Papillian cross. He goes to the door when he has to pee, but still thinks crapping in the house is ok. How do I get him to stop, Thanks

The puppy is 8 weeks old. He's a chihuahua mixed with a yorkshire terrier. I've only had him for 5 days but he doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "NO." Any other dog I've had will stop whatever he's doing if I ever said NO. This one will retaliate back at me by barking and growling and snapping at me when I say no or attacking my hands! I've never hit him or plan to, so I don't know why he does this. Help!

Right now she's 4 months old and 11 pounds. She looks mostly border collie but she's a rescue so we don't know what else is in her.

When we first rescued her, we assumed she was a garden variety Rottie-Shep X with the ubiquitous black+tan markings... However, after first few weeks - became abundantly clear she's hard wired to herd and chase, and since been identified as likely being a Kelpie X (Austr. cattle dogs, black+tan, larger than the Blue Heeler).

She's a good dog, very intelligent, responsive and eager to please - HOWEVER.. her instincts often get the better of her .. this can be problematic with the abundance of squirrels and racoons outside the windows - but even more so during off leash play, where she wants to herd other dogs, which is often intimidating for some.. she also has a tendancy to escalate play rough housing by nipping and biting other dogs.. I can ususally see this behaviour coming, but want to control it.

-details: we're her third owners (at least), she was abused, very intelligent, I am clerly alpha athough she does try to compete .. w.my wife..thanks in advance for any tips or thoughts

My puppy's coat seemed to be getting thinner and it looks dull. There's 12 of them and 3 has this problem. Seems like their coat is falling off...they look bald. Our puppies are pitbull.
