you fed your kids dog chocolate what? lol
I've fed my dog chocolate ice cream and he didn't die. He did it on accident it fell on the floor and he went at it. I couldn;t stop him lol
I just think he gets sick when he eats to much. It's not heathly for them or for their diet. He'll get fat and die.

Other than the poisonous effects already noted is the fact that chocolate does contain caffeine. I am not sure how many people have done this experiment, but in Biology in college we injected a lab mouse with a small amount of caffeine (was already cut open and gassed so it would sleep) the veins and arteries you could actually watch pounding with the tempo of the blood due to the caffeine. Granted most dogs are much larger than a lab rat, but it is still something to take into account for your pets.

It is well documented that chocolatee can and does kill dogs!
Dark chocolate is the most dangerous but any form of it can and does kill dogs. That is why doggy chocs sold in pet shops contains no chocolate!!!
Feeding a dog chocolate is a little like feeding yourself contaminated chicken. You may eat it for years but if the bug does get into your system you will get seriously ill and may die.
The difference with dogs is that if the chocolat does kill them it does so instantly!!
Try explaining that to your child if it happens! Try explaining it to animal welfare, the police and the courts if it happens and you face conviction and a prison sentence.
If you take the threat to your dogs life so lightly you should not be keeping one.

Yes.. it can kill ....The first signs of chocolate poisoning are vomiting and diarrhea, increased urination and nausea. These can progress to cardiac arrhythmias and seizures. The lethal dosage of theobromine in dogs is between 250 and 500 mgs/kg, or about 2/3 to 1 1/3 of baking chocolate for every 2.2 pounds of body weight. However, serious non-fatal poisonings have been reported in dogs after eating smaller amounts. Relative theobromine content per ounce for various products is: Milk chocolate: 44 - 60 mgs/ounce; Unsweetened baking chocolate: 450 mg/oz; Cacao meal: 300 - 900 mg/oz; Cacao beans: 300 - 1200 mg/oz; Hot chocolate: 13 mg/oz.
If your dog eats potentially dangerous amounts of chocolate and you can get to your vet within two hours, vomiting can be induced to remove the poison. If longer than two hours has passed, the animal may need to be seen and treated. Always call your veterinarian for advice

Stop feeding them chocolate. Can't you see that by the uncontollable diarrhea that something isn't right? YES, chocolate does kill dogs. If you don't want the dogs, take them to the humane society, do the right thing.

Bakers Chocolate can kill dogs in certain quantities (depends on how large your dog is). However, feeding any kind of chocolate to a dog is just a bad idea. It can mess up their digestive systems.

I have always heard that chocolate kills dogs. I never feed my dog chocolate; however, my aunt is constantly feeding her dog chocolate and candy and her dog is healthy. So I really don't know. It is probably not safe for dogs.

One chocolate button may not kill your dog, however it contains ingredients that are toxic to dogs. If your dog was to eat 250g of chocolate, it would either become very ill or die. It is poisonous and therefore should never be fed to dogs. Dog's chocolate is not that good for dogs either, it's full of rubbish. Stick to treats that are complete, like winalot biscuits, and nutro dog treats. www.nutro.co.uk
