I have three chihuahua's and have been asking myself the same question for years. The only thing that stops them from the barking, which is what they do best, is to smack a newspaper in my hand. If your dog is young , then attention is exactly what he wants. When you come through the door, praise him, play with him. When he does bark for attention give him what he wants, a little interaction. About when you move, is he being protective of your girlfriend? This could just be a normal protective mode for him. So when you do get out of a chair do not do it abruptly, do not reach for anything around your girlfriend, eventually he will learn your movements and this may stop

we've a 5 month previous pound puppy that for the 1st month might bark consistently each time it grew to become into positioned outdoors to flow potty, even while our different canine grew to become into out with it. I agree that a marvel collar is a bad subject yet what I did locate valuable grew to become right into a collar that sprays a controlled volume of citronella interior the canine's face each time they bark. the quantity and effectiveness relies upon on the handler because of the fact the collar is controlled by using a hand-held distant. there's a small container on the collar that emits spray each time the distant is pushed. in case you pay close interest to your canine each time it barks and use the spray i think of you have gotten effects. After a weeks time our canine now basically barks in play or to let us know something is incorrect. not extra consistent barking.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/05juU
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

you can get a bark collar or whistle, or just ignore the dog. that might not work, but when my dog used to bark for attention id just go into another room or complelty ignore it. it realized that the barking wasnt going to accomplish anything and he gave up

Hi. The "Dog Silencer Pro" works well. And it has a remote control. Emits ultrasonic sound. More humane than a collar.
