sorry to bear the bad news but.... 6 week old puppies do that! you gotta wake up allthe time for their little bladders... it'll slow down eventually until they can sleep thru the night. but definetly dont take her out of the crate if you want to keep her in there long term

She is a little young yet. If you have her in the crate and she wakes up, take her out to go potty. Puppies are like kids, you need to set the rules of what is expected and what is not. Place a stuffed animal or an old sweat shirt with your sent on it in the crate with her. That may help. However if you continue to let her run you she will know she can misbehave when she get's older. You may have to move the crate out of your room and place it somewhere else also. The crate needs to be a positive thing because that is her home/bed so don't do anything negitive or you will have a dog that you have to fight to get in the crate when she needs to go in.

It depends on what you want the dog to do in the long run. I got my first puppy (my responsibility not mom & dads- this was when I moved out) 2 years ago. I spoiled him, but it doesn't bother me. I spent the first few night with him curled up with me on the bed. Needless to say it's like having a baby in the bed with you (not sure I recommend that though)- when they stir you wake up. So I didn't sleep well. However, I didn't have the heart to take a puppy that had been his brother, sisters, and mom and all of a sudden has no one in the world but you, and stick him in the crate over night. I work 8 hours a day and he's in there when I work. I couldn't live with myself knowing I bought a dog that spends 16 hours in a crate (work & sleep).
My dog still sleeps with me now. I know it's strange, but when my husband took him to my in-laws the night before we got married, I missed the little booger sleeping with me.
Like I said, it's up to you. If you want, try to find an old clock (the wind up kind) and put that near her crate and it's supposed to remind her of her mom's heart beat and soothe her. If not, put her in bed with you. It's your call, but like I said- whatever you do- it'll stick for the rest of that dogs life. So, if you don't want her in the bed, look for a clock.

My six week old sheltie did the same thing. She howled, she yipped she cried...the trick is to put them in ANOTHER room. If they are so close by you, they will want to be cuddled, not sleep by themselves. If you want her to sleep in the crate, make sure it is comfy for her (maybe add a ticking clock if you feel the need) put her to bed for the night and call it a day. Do NOT go in by her when she cries. It works the same way with a baby, they know what jerks your heartstrings. When you don't give in, she will settle down and go to sleep. This will be hard (I hated hearing her cry) but it is worth it, your dog will be more independent and have a lesser chance of developing separation issues with you.

She may be young, but she's totally playing you. When she wakes you up, take her out to potty. After she's had a chance to do her business, put her back into the crate and ignore her. If you give in everytime she starts crying she learns that being annoying=getting her way. It'll be a couple of tough nights but eventually she'll sleep through it and so will you!

I agree with pianoducky. I would like to add that you can put a clock right outside the crate - to the puppy it simulates a heartbeat of the mom. and/or wrap a warm wattle bottle up in a blanket.

My boyfriend worked with animals and he told me to put an wind up alarm clock under the blanket in her crate. The sound would be like a mothers heart. It usually helps.

it thinks your her mother
why do you have a six week old? if you bought her, then you should have waited until she was at least 8 weeks.
i slept on the floor with my puppy the first 2 days we got her, and she was fine after and slept on her own the 3rd day just fine. some people are for the more harsh method of just leaving it in its crate to be sad and lonesome, but i couldnt do that.

Put a wind up clock in the bed with the puppy. It makes them think it is there mother making the noise.
