Any kind of enzyme deodorizer (live enzymes eat the stain)should work...check Wal-Mart in the pet section. As far as the dog, any recent changes? Who spilled the milkshake? Someone your dog doesn't care for? If he doesn't do better with some extra love and attention, take him to the vet. Good luck.

The worst thing you can do is steam clean your carpet when there are pet stains. The heat sets the stain and actually does nothing to remove the odor which means your dog will still go back to the same "spot". Try to find a store near you that carries a product called Natures Miracle. It has enzymes which break down the stain and completely remove the odor.

try Natures Helper for the carpet. On the pup training..if this is unusual behavior for your pup, it could be a UTI or kidney infection that can clear up with medicine if u make a vet visit to rule that out. Also depending on the age of the pup-they go thru a rebelious stage and it seems like the training goes in reverse--they become a four legged teenager.. : )

carpet:
get resolve carpet spray for in between rug dr treatments. also, i use some baking soda for pet odors vacuum powder that works well. just sprinkle it on and vacuum it up! i found it in the carpet section at the store with the reslove.

dog:
maybe he had an accident, maybe he got scared and pottied....
was it just the one time or has he been doing this more and more??
he could have a baldder infection
he could not be going out enough. are you watching him for potty cues??
i'd try some re0inforcement training. when you take him out to potty take some treats in your pocket and when he eliminates, praise him and give him a treat. this will re-inforce the previous training.

good luck!

Certain smells are similar (apparently) for dogs/cats to musk or territorial based scents, which can invoke a hormonal reaction in the animal to produce a small amount of urine (much smaller than a regular wee).

"off" milk is apparently one of these!

Best suggestion is to get a carpet cleaning machine for 4 hours £15 and give the area a thorough deep clean.

If your dog is peeing regular (large) amounts of urine, then they could have a bladder infection - if so, go see a vet.

Hope this helps

Wow.. that is a problem because the dog urine has soaked to the sponge below the crpet. You should apply with a sponge, warm water to it (the spot) and then put an absorbant cloth over it and if you have something heavy to put on top of the cloth, that is good. the absorbnt cloth will DRAW up what it can..... I have done this over again and also use a pet deodorant cleaner on the spot also and also (again) put down an absorbant cloth(white) with a heavy something on top and leave it again for a day

Buy a steam cleaner! Mine has saved my carpet from 3 animals and two young children. If you are low on money , just buy a bottle of the cleaning solution (bissle brand is the best) and some gloves and scrub the stains out. And take your dog to the vet , It may be sick . A urinary infection will make it pee unexpectedly.

Get rid of the carpet and get wood floor/laminate. It's the only way, Dogs stink, it's a fact, they walk in all kinds of sh1t too, and they're walking that into your carpet. Get something that can be cleaned regularly and that the dog hairs can be swept out of.

Use natures miracle or simple solutions on the pee. Take the dog to a vet to see if it has a uti. Have the carpet cleaned again.

i had a dog once who was quite well and had plenty of walks but suddenly started weeing in the house... it turned out he had diabetes... so get your dog checked out by a vet... as for the stains... there is a liquid cleaner specially for pet spills that i've used and is quite good... check with your local pet store/supermarket
