You need to take the dog to a veterinary office and have it dipped in Mitaban. Usually a few times you'll have to do this, then the vet will do a skin scrape and see how well the dog is doing and how many more treatments the dog will need. With weekly treatment at a veterinary office Mange is usually controlled. I work at a veterinary office in Florida.

There are two different types of mange. One is usually brought on my stress the other is better known as scabies when you catch it from the dog. Go get a skin scrap so you know what you are dealing with!!
