How canhe miss what he's never known? I doubt he's spent much time looking at the centerfold in a doggy magazine, or heard many locker room stories....

I dont think that is sad at all. When you neuter your pet you add years to their life, which is "happy" not "sad". Neutering also prevents cnacer. Plus, dogs dont mate because they like the way it feels, they only mate during mating season and only for the reason of "spreading their seed" or keeping their alive. But the fact of the matter is that there are so many unwanted dogs out there that need homes, neutering is probably one of the best things you could have done for him.

Not at all. At least one more dog will get to have a happy life (as opposed to dying in a shelter) because you neutered yours. Everyone should follow your example.
Also, dogs don't have sex for pleasure, only by instinct. So you really aren't depriving him of a "man's" life, and maybe you even prevented him from doing something that he'd regret. Like running across the street to catch that hot cocker spaniel...and then SPLAT!

Coming from a culture where people in the past did castrate men to be eunuch, I think people who say castration is great for the animals is just pure bullshit. It's great for humanity, it solves one of our problems but great for the animals, come on there is something biology and instinct. In addition, it's surgery and a pretty major one at that, how many men would give up their manhood for longer life, hell if I was a cat, I rather be declawed than get cut. My cat is neutered as well BECAUSE of the overpopulation problem but I don't fool myself to say it's better for him or his kind, it's better for us.

No it's not wrong. If you had your dog's balls removed it doesn't mean that he can't feel any sexual desires . . . well not that much. When you removed his balls he can still mate with others but the possibility of having offsprings is zero.

As long as he has a lot of love and attention from you his owner, he will be happy and not miss something he never had.
