We have hardwood floors in some parts of our house and are thinking of getting a Labrador. How do we prevent the dog from scratching the floor? Some kind of sealant? Or getting something like this - http://www.softpaws.net/ ?

My dog is always shaking his head and scratching at his ear with his paw, I know that he does not have any fleas because he is an inside dog and he doesn't scratch anywhere else. When I get a cloth and try and clean his ear out he starts wimpering and won't let me touch it, Also when I move his ear around it makes a wierd noise like there's water in his ear. Please help me what should I do, I really don't have to money to take him to the vet.

My dog is in the vet hospital getting her system flushed because of her kidneys and I called to check on her and he said there's still no change in clinical appearance and probably won't be for awhile. Does this just mean her appearance in general?

Hi, I'm getting a 6 week old Shih Tzu puppy next week, and I was wondering what to expect from her. I have cats, so is there anything special I should do for that situation? If anyone has any tips on ANYTHING about Shih Tzu puppies, please tell me!

Thank you in advance!

My Pitbull has really bad allergies. the vet insists it's something I'm feeding him. I have stripped his food to nothing but Wellness brand (vet's recommendation) but it's not helping. Does any know of better dog food than that.

I've posted before if it was okay for the mother to leave her 3 day old pups for a stretch or so. Well, I've kept tracked yesterday and the pups need to feed every hour or so. The vet told me to help out bottle feeding them because the 3rd and 4th born are smaller than the first two but the pups seem to know the difference between the mom's milk and bottle... they wont bottle feed. So every time they're hungry i'd just grab the mom and put her back in the kennel.

Well, my thing is, the whole 24hrs she stayed with the pups and didnt leave. the next day i let her out she'd quickly go back in --usually when the pups cry the mom would go to them. Then yesterday she seem to like her freedom more than them? Its like she would rather lay on the couch and sleep on the couch than to sleep with her pups. Whats going on???

Her milk sack is pretty pink but are the veins suppose to be a dark color? Almost purplish? They look like its turning into spider viens?

My boxer vomits bile once every 5 or 6 weeks. Just one little vomit and that is it,he seems to be fine, no signs of feeling sick.
Somebody can tell me if it is normal?
