They have DONO which means A pet who has self-confidence, who does good deeds, who is trained to help humans

Saki! That was my f/Akita's name long ago. I now have a Japanese chin named Sachi (a boy) but it means happy, so you can go with that as well! Or Picachu!

Sakura. One of my college roomates was Japanese and had a bunny by that name. It means "cherry blossom" in Japanese. I think its a pretty name for a female dog. You might want to check my spelling of it though.
