Hi, I'm getting a 6 week old Shih Tzu puppy next week, and I was wondering what to expect from her. I have cats, so is there anything special I should do for that situation? If anyone has any tips on ANYTHING about Shih Tzu puppies, please tell me!

I have had several Shih-Tzu puppies and they are wonderful. They are full of personality and love the attention they get.
The females I have had in the past have been very gentle dogs with others. I did not have any cats at the time but they were around some on occasion.
It all will depend on the temperment of the puppy you get. Introduce them early and they should get along.
You will love your new family addition and she will love you just as much.

well i think with all puppies..they're very playful so perhaps its best ur cats have their nails cut just in case..i have a shih tzu as well but nothing out of the ordinary came about with this type of dog

Do not use puppy pads while house training. I did this when I got my toy poodle puppy and now (2 years later) she still goes in the house! She WILL go outside, but I have to watch her if she walks over where I used to put down the puppy pads. Just a piece of advice from one dog owner to another.

I have one too. She is the best dog I ever had. She is so happy she wags her tail and her butt too. Its like her tail can't store all the happiness.
I don't know if this is a Shih Tzu thing but mine sneezes on a treat if she doesn't want it.Then she walks away. I say " You could have just walked away. Now the other dog can't have it either. "
She also loves everyone and even people who don't like dogs like her. {Shes pushy}
