My aunt is a dog trainer and taught us to yelp like a dog would if something hurt them, then growl. Dogs don't understand humans, so you have to be like them. Then you can also bite her back. Just bite her ear. She'll get the point, and realize your the alpha dog not her. Good luck!

You can take a shoe lace and use it to muzzle (if it is a small dog). However, I think in the bigger picture you need to teach your dog it is okay to have her nails trimmed. At first, just pick up her foot and play with her feet, next hold the foot and the clippers (but don't actually clip) just pretend to clip her nails. She will get use to this, and praise her and give her lots of treats. Soon you will be able to clip one nail, stop give her a treat.. and come back at a later time to do another. Each step should last 1-2 weeks or as long as it takes for her to become comfortable. If you move too fast she will not get use to it, let her be comfortable before you move on to the next step. Have her associate her nails being trimmed with a treat - eventually she'll be wanting you to do it b/c of the treat. Do not cut into the quick of the dogs nail, it will bleed non stop and is painful. I have a small dog, and I find the scissor clippers work best rather than the guillotine ones, it is quick and easier to position on the dog.

Most dogs do not like their nails to be trimmed. You can put a muscle on the dog while you are doing it (trimming the nails). One of my dogs needs that when I take him to the groomers, the other dog I can do it myself because I started with him when he was still a puppy. All or most dogs snapped when you are doing something to them that they don't like. My advise to you is take him for long walks on the sidewalk, and this will shorten his nails. If not take him to a groomer. Long nails on dogs mostly happens to dogs that live inside and only go to the yard to potty. So walk the dog more often. I don't because have no time. I hope this helps you a bit.

Some dogs are really not able to except people touching there nails or ears.I would take your dog to a groomer just for a nail clipping only and make sure you ask the groomer for a muzzle sometimes its best if you put it on,The dog will nolonger be in his own territory so its easeir to get the muzzle on.You can muzzle her at home but she might nip at you at home.My dog would eat if I touched his feet or ears its a terrier thing for him. Some flaws we have to just except .We humans have flaws so why should dogs.I hope I have helped you.

Either bite the dogs behind the ears, or with two fingers gently hit the nose whilst telling them no, that has worked in the past with me. the problem here is that u might have hurt her whilst trimming her nails either in the past or when u were actually doing it, so the experience won't be a pleasant one. good luck

My dog hates when we trim his nails at home but for some reason he lets a groomer or a vet do it just fine. I know I never cut the bloodfilled part of the nail but for some reason he hates it when i do it so now I let the professionals handle it.

I have been told by trainers never to try and close their mouths for them. In some dogs it just makes for more agression. Instead take your dog to the vet once a month. It is inexpensive to have them clip your dogs nails there, and well worth you having a better relationship with your pet.

Take him to the groomers. My Shih-tzu Buddy has an attitude like that. When I got him neutered he was alot better but at times he still snaps at the hand that feeds him. I was brushing him one day and I hit a mat and he lounged at me and I jumped up. I try now to not do anything that I know will upset him since his has a temper. No matter what though he is still my boy and I love him no matter how bad he acts.
