My cousin has a pit mix and she competes in flyball, frisbee and obedience competition. Is also a member of the Super Dogs.

Tracking trials

Carting

Dog hiking (not something you can just dive right into)

Flyball

Frisbee

Obedience (see how many commands your dogs can learn)

Weight Pulling

Tug of war is not recommeded, as the one poster said. Also, not all Pits "turn." That is spoken from someone that has not been around a lot of Pits or owned them themselves. I have known several Pits that have not "turned" as well as one that is now a therapy dog that goes into nursing homes and hospitals!

Possibly...just possibly your friend did not properly train his dog, eh? Just a thought. Don't blame the dog, blame the owner.

Unfortunately, many seem to love and enjoy destroying other living things. Its in the media often, so don't just take my word for it. However, my daughter has a gentle, timid part pit bull female. Good luck with your doggies; try taking them for a swim, and train them firmly and with kindness. I bet they'll enjoy retrieving a ball or a Frisbee.

Pit Bull Weight Pulling is a popular sport for pit bulls and their owners. basically, the dogs are put in a harness and pull weight, similar to horse-team weight pulls. The dog's incredible strength and tenacity fit this sport perfectly, and the dogs seem to love it. Here is a link that you might find useful:

mine is a little older then a puppy we hang a rope from a tree he loves to jump up and grab the rope be careful if the rope starts to come apart he could get his teeth caught in it just hang it high enough that when he has it in his mouth his back legs are still touching the ground at first we hung treats from the rope now he is a show off and likes to jump higher

Well my pit loves playing tug of war and chasing balls. It depends on the personality. Great breed! I bet they are just adorable! Good luck!
