My little guy is a VERY picky eater, the vet suggested changeing to a senior formulated dog food, I couldn't find one he would eat, and I tried every brand on the market. At the next vet visit his liver enzymes were higher and the Vet prescribed a multi-vitamin. The vitamin is liver flavored, he won't eat it. He doesn't eat treats so I can't even camouflage it. I tried grinding it up and putting it in his food, and having a test of wills, he went 3 days without eating. He's 6 years old, weights 5 pounds, and is too small to go without eating for 3 days, I gave in. Trying to force it down his throat is a fight worthy of a Las Vegas showdown. Any suggestions?

Are there any laws in New York to prohibit a "backyard breeder" from continually breeding and selling dogs known to have hip dysplasia, heart problems, and so on? Does anyone regulate this? Who would it be reported to? I've made several complaints, but it seems that "it's not our problem"

I dont mean like s/he can sit, play dead, roll over, bla bla. I mean something funy and cute.
For example, my dog Max, which is a black lab, used to LOVE bread. Give him any kind of bread and he will eat it. Well one day I had a few pieces of buttered toast left over from supper, so I gave them to him. There were about 4 or 5 pieces so I just layed them in his bowl for him to eat. Well when I came back to check on him, I found the bread laying in the floor with perfect little holes eaten out of the middle of the slices where the butter had been. He only ate the butter part of the bread! Now whenever I give him bread, he wont eat it unless there is butter smeared all over it!

Does anyone have a pet that does this or other funny little things?

Our 11 year old dog passed away last week from late stages of liver cancer. 5 days prior she was given a clean bill of health after her 5 minute annual. If bloodwork had been done, this would have been detected, but I can't get a straight answer if this should have been done.

We keep algaecide for our swimming pool. Our duck has a small wading pool but will not swim in it when algae is present so we are constantly scrubbing it. Will a little bit of algaecide hurt her being she drinks it, and also our dogs drink out of the wading pool?

His eyes are tearing slightly, but not staining per say, because the hair around his eyes is dark. I used daily wipes (store bought) but it doesn't seem to be taking the odour away.

I have a chow chow [mix with germ. shep]. I know she gets excited sometimes but I've never seen dogs act in the manner she does. She runs around the backyard super-duper fast in circles, I'm talking full speed. She just takes off for about 3 minutes and jumps and jukes all around the backyard. 97% of this is her running in circles all over the place, hitting every corner she can, I mean...she literally makes the grass come up. I think it's funny but I just wonder if this is abnormal dog behaviour. She is not a puppy either, but she always does this.

Our dog had she gotten bred, should have had puppies round the middle of June. She showed no signs of being pregnant and has not been with another male since the attempted breeding. She has recently, though, showed signs of uddering down and yesterday (july 3) she is definitely producing milk. What's going on here?
