A dog sheds its coat naturally to rid of debris and smell etc but it can also mean that the dogs skin is dry..feeding your dog a high quality dog food is the first step to cut down on shedding.

A dog food that contains oils, such as fish oils, flax seed oils are best..Even adding a moist dog food to your dogs kibble can help

Dogs need Omega fats in order to maintain healthy skin and coat.

You can also consider adding 1teaspoon of cod liver oil to his/her kibble and this will help alot

Frequent brushing using an undercoat rake during the warmer months cuts down on shedding.A undercoat rake can be found at most pet stores. The undercoat rake, removes the undercoat of most dog breeds(this is actually the fur that gets shed). It also can cut down on smelly coats, mats and other problems.

You don't stop a dog from shedding. You brush it regularly, bathe it regularly and that should help bring down the amount of clumps you find all over the house. If you have a short haired dog like a lab or chiauhau, brush it while your bathing, this will help bring the dead winter coat out during bathtime. If you have a long haired dog like a pomeranian or a border collie brush before the bath, then after they've dried off a little from their bath. What kind of dog do you have?

Dogs like all mammals have to shed. It is the same with humans. We shed layers of skin. Animals do not need a heavy coat in the summer so it sheds to make the dog more comfortable. Frequent brushing and shampooing will keep the shedding from making a mess in your house.

You wash your dog.
Regularly brush them with a shedding brush. (I suggest brushing your dog outside).
And regularly give them Shed Stop or Linatone.
I also give my dog Salmon oil capsules.

You can check out the links below for various products that could help you with your dog. But unfortunately nothing will STOP your dog from shedding only reduce it.

But I hope this helps.

You can't stop your dog from shedding, but if you brush him/her, then it will lessen the amount of fur that the dog has to lose. Also bathing your dog can get rid of a lot of excess fur.

There is really no way for you to stop that. It depends on what type of dog it is and how furry it is. The best thing i have found is right after you bath them you bush em and put a lil nickel size amount of conditioner and brush em again then blow dry them.

You can't. They lose hair everyday just like us. You can control it by brushing the dog every day.

you can't really stop it. you can just brush it often so that the hair comes off and stays on the brush instead of flying everywhere.
