Just put vegetable oil on the ticks body using a cotton bud. Ticks are insects and breathe through pores in their skin. Oil blocks the pores. They then don't feel like feeding, withdraw their heads and drop off.
I hope that you still vaccinate and worm your dog. If your dog has ticks he also has fleas; and fleas carry tapeworm.
If you had gone to see your vet they would have shown you how to remove ticks. Please try to find a vet that uses herbal medicine; don't just assume that none of them do.

Here is the best way to remove ticks:

- First thing (most important step), hold a ball of paper towel, soaked with rubbing alcohol, up against the tick. This will kill it so it doesn't leave it's legs or body parts stuck in your dog, leading to infection. You should hold the paper towel against the tick for 30 seconds at least. Then remove with tweezers. This must be repeated for every tick. Time-consuming but necessary.

Each removed tick should be placed in a jar of rubbing alcohol for disposal, just to make sure they are dead.

You can't. You can physically remove them by putting a drop of rubbing alcohol on their back (it makes them pull their head out) and plucking them off. Otherwise, there is nothing you can do. I suggest you purchase a product such as Advantix or Frontline from your veterinarian.

My dogs knows my sons name. I ask her to find Oskar and she runs to him. It's probably because he's only a toddler and I'm constantly saying his name, and were at home most of the day so she's hearing me call his name a lot :)

Try getting adopted by some baboons. Their social grooming sessions are quite thorough and nutritious too!
