I forgot to mention they are roundworms, about 6 inches long.

take the puppy to the vet and bring some of the worms in so the vet can see them.

Get her to a vet immediately.

Puppies that have worms is a danger to not only the dog, but to yourself, and other dogs.

If it's a severe case, the worms could actually migrate to the puppys lungs, causing pneumonia. And such a severe infection could cause an obstruction in the pups intestines. Also, the worms eat the 'hosts' food, resulting in malnutrition, which, if severe enough, will kill the puppy.

Treatment for such 'infections' are numerous, and while you can buy medications over-the-counter, going to the vet is the safest way. Numerous treatments will need to be done, since the treatments do not kill the larvae! Only the worms that have finished their migration and larvae cycle and entered 'adulthood' will be removed with the medication, so two, or even three treatments will need to be given, usually two weeks after the last treatment was administered.

And if that isn't bad enough, roundworms can be passed on to humans! And most victims are children.

Roundworms infecting a human body is very serious. While the human body is not a proper host for roundworms, the larvae attempt to follow through with their life cycle. In most cases, they get lost in the human body, and in most cases, end up in the eye, whereupon it dies and causes an extreme inflammatory reaction. If a worm dies in a human eye, blindness usually results.

You should take it to the vet to get its shots and have it checked out. Pick up the poop and dispose of it. If she poops in the yard and you don't pick it up, you can be infesting your yard with whatever worm she has. Chances are she has roundworms and hookworms as many puppies get those from the mother. You can buy pyrantel pamoate (a wormer) from a feedstore, pet supply or many other places. It will have a brand name on it, but look at the ingredients. There are different kinds of wormers but that is what vets use often. It will take care of rounds and hooks. Pay attention to the dosage on the package as it's by body weight. If she has tapes which is doubtful at this stage, there is a different medicine to get rid of that. It's quite simple to periodically worm your dog, but if you put her on the right heartworm preventitive, you can probably eliminate heartworms, and other parasites as well. Some even inhibit flea infestation and reproduction. Good luck.

I breed min poms and every so often they get worms. Instead of buying expensive deworming meds, I give them garlic mixed into canned dog food it might take a day or 2 depending on how much garlic you use and how the puppy takes to the flavor, but it works . usually after one dose. it can be garlic powder or chopped garlic just make it as strong as the dog can tolerate . do this for at least 2 days to make sure they are completely gone.

All puppys have worms!Pet smart will be able to help you. After they deworm her keep an eye on her stool for a couple weeks after, usually one deworming is enough but sometimes it takes a second one to fully clear up the problem!

the medicine for de-worming should do the trick, though it may take more than one round if the worms are bad. I would also keep her way from any other animals and wash any bedding she's been using with HOT water and bleach.

You should have to go to the veterinarian who will give the dog a shot that will kill the worms. Otherwise, there may be some kind of formula you can buy at the storm also that kills worms. Either way, ask your veterinarian. He/she will know.

Get that dog to the vet IMMEDIATELY! The vet can give you stuff to help prevent worms, but can also give you better advice. That puppy is way to y oung to be on her own anyway and needs vet care to prevent other disease like parvo virus, etc.

Clean your yard! Dogs get worms from the feces of other animals. Keep her on the dewormer for no less than 2 weeks.

go to a damn vet first
then, follow his directions
then, ask your vet what kind of flea, tick, and heartworm protection he recommends ex. frontline brand and all the other ones
lastly, after doing all this, take your dog to the vet for a complete checkup, including a flea and heartworm check

and also try to keep the dog indoors, if not, keep up with the flea protection
