I have a female chihuahua and a male Pit. My female chihuahua killed a kitten that came in the yard. She has been killign gophers like crazy and we think she did it because of her prey drive with the gophers. we are not happy she did it at all.
I am curious how many people will actually say chihuahuas are vicious since the poor pits get all the blame,
and yes. we saw her kill the cat so it wasn't the Pit.

In my apartment complex there are a lot of really big dogs. Dalmations, black labs, etc. I don't understand why anyone would keep such a big dog in an apartment. One dog couldn't handle it and broke through the window to get out (twice). I love dogs, but it seems cruel to keep them in such a small home.

My dog spends most of the day outside on her large yard run area. In the evening we walk and sometimes hear rustling in bushes: could be racoons, skunks, etc....she is curious and I make sure she does not explore the movement....The other day she chased a chipmunk and got it on the road as it jumped out of a mailbox planted area... Just wondering what other people do/would do from experience or knowledge. What do you feel is the best way is to cut/de-scent the skunk spray if a dog gets a direct hit. Heard about Tomato juice baths, lemon, special scent cutters.....please name products or methods. Most appreciative for the info...hopefully will not have to use the info in the future....we are careful to avoid the darker bushy areas.
Thanks all!!!!!

I have a male chihuaua, very petite. I've had him since a puppy and he's now 2. About a year ago he began having seizures. Im not sure what is causing them. I make sure he's eating enough. They just happen soo randomly. When he is going to have one..he comes to me to let me know. He will lose his balance where he cannot stand at all and his legs stiffen. Other than that he is ok..he doesnt convulse. I usually offer him sugar water (I think he's diabetic) and just hold him and talk him through it and he's fine. There have been no side effects. Vet wanted $2,000 just to run tests to tell me whats causing it. Anyone have a chi with the same issue? Or one with diabeties? Please help me to understand this more and please no rude comments about how I should take him to the vet and spend the money on him....I love my dog like a child and he means the world to me. I dont need lecturing! Thank you!

I have been thinking about the behavior of a dog as a little puppy, but how much it could cost. I am planning to get a dog in the near future that can stay in a three-floor apartment, and exercise near the parks and playgrounds in the area.

I went to my vet for annual shots - 3rd vet same place in 1 year! I do not trust him - dog shows no symptoms or pain. Her leg did pop out when manually manipulated.

The dogs eat different food for health reasons. The Chihuahua tries to eat the Lab's food and now he's eating his poop as well.

My family and I recently found out about a puppy that we want. We found it on the Mercury News [internet] on the pet ads. But the thing is, since it IS on the internet, I am wondering if it is a pet scam or not, someone who just wants to take our money away. This person supposedly claims that he went to Africa last week or so working on the CHAD-CAMEROON PIPELINE PROJECT, and he took his puppy with him, and he wants a Western money transfer or something, and ship the puppy to the US. He seems a bit eager to make the deal, saying that he wants to send the puppy today and things like that. How do we know if he's a pet scammer? Please help.

I have a problem. My roomate has a dog that I really hate. It sh*t's all over the house. Everytime I clean it up I know what it is to hate. I mean really hate. The all-consuming hate that makes you want to breathe fire and exhale murder. The beast must die. Anyway, I digress. My roomate paid a lot of money for this dog, and he would be very upset if he found out I killed it. I need a poision to kill the dog, but one that will make it's death seem natural. Any help would be most appreciated.

Lily is 2 yrs old and seems fine. No change in eating or activity. We got papers on her when we bought her although i'm not sure she is a pure bred. I really don't care we just wanted a good dog for the kids. I only mention it because maybe it would have something to do with her fur...Has anyone has this happen? I would appreciate your input.

Ok question is...how long do you have to wait before bringing the male into the picture. Someone years ago told me to wait until the 5th or 6th day (of the cycle) before introducing the male to the female. This will be her first time having puppies so I want to make sure it's done right.
