He is most likely epileptic
Many Chis are.
They make a medicine that you give it is a pill and some only need it like every other day or so. You give a pill and that is it.
Ask your vet about it or get another vet as it is a common ailment in Chis.

I will tell you what an old country vet said that I had for years (he was great to all of my families animals!!) My Sister in law had a husky and she had siezures the same way ,Randomly and for no apparent reason and he said that MOST PEDIGREE DOGS will have them occasionally! It is something in thier chemical make-up of the brain. He said that as long as you stay with your dog and talk them through it &to keep them comfortable and calm, sometimes you can rub cold water on thiere faces with a cloth like you would a child they will snap out of it ok,until they have one that lasts a long time and they seem to be in any great deal lof pain they'll be ok. I hope I have helped you .I hate these vets/doctors that don't care and it's all about the money! Our vet passed away and we miss him!!Can you believe he used to make house calls too!!!AnyhowDon't let any Snob vet try to rip you off! If you think your dog is a diabetic you should be able to tell by his diet..I believe you can buy testing kits just like people do..Best of all to you and your pup!!

If you love your dog like a child and he really means the world to you then instead of asking for home remedies on the internet you would be calling other vets in the area to find out who can help you for less money. Your dog needs professional medical help, and it sounds to me like you do need lecturing if you haven't gotten it for him yet.

HI, im not sure why he would have seziures... but I think its because of their small structer... small dogs are also prone to heart problems... I think that after his seziures and you give him some sugar water... if he's happy... and if you cant afford the vet fee's i would say help him live out his life happily... but (and i really dont want this to sound like a lecture) if you cant afford it.. and he is suffering... i think you know what you have to do.. as sad as it is.. but you wouldnt want to live in constant pain.. i know i wouldnt. i hope this helps a little, and im sorry that he has seziures.. i know what its like to lose a pet you love dearly

Seizures can be a sign of epilepsy. It most likely though, cosidering he is a toy breed, could be "water on the brain" and that also causes epilepsy.

my Dog also suffered seizures. it all started with skin problem in Dog. i gave medicines to cure skin disease but i think it lead to epilepsy.
best way to avoid seizures is to give some sedatives when you feel seizure are about to come. and please give not much medication to your pet for other problems as they aggravate seizures.
