City and county animal shelters and ASPCA shelters are FULL of them. They are so widely and indiscriminately bred, they are also euthanized in huge numbers. Please make sure you spay and neuter and read up on the breed so you will be a responsible owner.

Be careful getting a low cost pit bull. The people that sell them have not taken care of blood lines and are probably breeding them to fight thus breeding the most aggrieves of parents. That can come out in the puppies. Know where the puppy comes from.

Go to a shelter.
Shelter dogs make the best pets. They seem more "grateful" because they know how bad life can get.
A vet can give you the number for pitbull rescue groups in your area. You will be saving a life and you get lots of "extras" when you adopt. All shelters will be swimming in puppies at this time of year.

Visit the local Humane Society or shelter. I think there is a fee but the it's not much. There may or may not be a pitbull but you may find a different dog that you like. I hope I helped and good luck!

Go to your local shelter, if they haven't put them down already because they are pitbulls.

And to the person above me, Pitbulls shouldn't be banned, but your life should be. Have a nice day.

You can try your local shelter but mine requires a 6ft fence to adopt a pit breed. I got my two pits from www.puppyfinder.com. Make sure you do all your research before you adopt a pit to ensure you are ready for the committment.

Try petfinder.com they have a lot of great pets that people get rid of because they are "mean" and it is just because they do not handle them the right way, or for other reasons; not enough money, not enough time, etc. Hope this helps!

You have to wait for one that is really aggressive and has already mauled some poor little girl, then you get him out of the pound before they euthanize him. I'm pretty sure they will give it to you for free.
