I'm moving out of state and can't bring my cats. I need to find a home for a female (11 years) and a male (9 years). I'm looking for names of no-skill shelters.

Thanks!

She may be perfectly fine, but I think Ive scared myself my reading up/researching/preparing for adopting a cat an now im 'looking for it' BUT... she sneezes more than usual in one day, has very minor eye boogie now an then, and today sounds like she chokes/coughs a little. but i just thought its after she drank water to quick or something..... are these sypmtoms i should be afraid of? or is it not serious enough yet?

Thank you to everyone that helped me out with my cat yesterday. I cleaned her up and she's alot better now, although she still wont eat, but I've taken her to the vet and hopefully she'll be fine. I know I was a pain in the butt and I was very stupid and I had alot of questions, but she's the first cat I've ever had and nothing like this has ever happened before, but yah anyways...I just wanted to say thanks. You all were a big help.

because I don't have a cat flap and don't want to leave windows open yet when he's fast asleep at 8pm I feel horrible putting him out, he is meowing at about 4.30 am to come back in so I let him in but he doesn't meow before that time, so I presume he's doing what cats do but I don't have much experience with cats can anybody advise?

Not that we object to these little kitty-kisses. And yes, we do take baths ourselves...

I know my cat is still using his litterbox. I have heard of cats spraying things to mark their territories but normally I heard of them lifting their tail and actually spraying. Anyway my cat has peed on my blankets a few times and one of my bags. I was gone for one night and came back the next day and when I was home on my computer he peed on my chair three times. I got that one from a garage sale. He just squats down and does it. What are the best products to completely remove the smell he has an appointment to be neutered in two days. What else should I be asking my vet when I go there? I would like my apartment to be as free from his smell when he returns so he doesn't start up again. Why would he be squatting and just urinating on my things and not doing the point-spray thing?

My 4 month old kitten is very cooperative for shampooing, and I find it necessary to do because a fresh shampoo leaves me without allergy symptoms for about 4 days. But I'm concerned that shampooing him too often may inadvertantly hurt him in some way. Anyone know if twice a week is too often?

Bailey is an eight year old neutered cat with FIV. Because of this compromise I can not use the spray bottle method. He has access to a kitty gym and various types of clawing surfaces but he wants to claw the woodwork around the doors and windows. He also gets supervised outdoor play for about an hour each day.

A few days ago I left my garage door open overnight by accident. The next day I shut the door & went to work. When I opened the gargage door again I noticed something moving in the corner. Then I noticed a bad smell of urine. When I looked again I saw the back end of a cat moving behind some boxes. I realized it had been in there for a couple of days (two mounds of evidence) so I put down some food & water(this could have been my mistake). I parked the car in the garage, keeping the door open so the cat could leave. Not wanting to stand outside in the cold to see if the cat did leave, I put down some baking soda to catch any tracks as proof. I got the proof that it left & also that it came back! I've been leaving the door open when I can but it won't leave. I can't see if it has a collar because it won't let me get close. I don't want to leave the garage door open when I'm not home & don't want to call the Animal Control(not sure they will help with this kind of problem) What do I do?

I have a long haired cat that I hate putting flea "Advantix" on because it makes his hair gross looking (and smells).
Is there any alternative flea control ideas other than a collar?

thanks.

I have a kitten who is 8 weeks old. When I walk she bites and claws at my ankles. She also attacks my hands and arms. I know she is only playing but I don't want her to think it is ok to do this and when she is older to continue biting and clawing me. Any suggestions?

I have a two year old cat that REFUSES to pee in the litter box. She poops in it, but pees outside of it. What is going on, and why? How can I fix it? She DOESN'T have an infection.

We are moving in a week. I have been moving stuff out of the back room where the litter box is, only to discover that there is one area that is VERY stained, that I was unaware of. What can be done about cat pee stains on a hardwood floor? We'd like to have a chance of getting PART of the security deposit back....

My cat (a year old Siamese named Pyewacket.) Loves Twinkies!

I don't actually give them to him because I know they are probably bad for him? But when the kids eat them, he will practically attack them to get the cream and if he is lucky enough to knock a bit out of their hands, he grabs it, runs off and greedily eats it as if it were a dead bird! He doesn't do this with anything else...

Anyone else have a cat that likes weird things?

I have 12 indoor cats and the best litters are really expensive. I understand that there are home litter manufacturers that do more than shred paper, but I can't find a source. HELP !!!

I heard this on the radio the other day. It would explain why my kitty is sometimes purrring away then suddenly SNAP goes the mouth to try and bite us. Anyone know if this is true?

We just got a cat for my Grandmother and we need a name for it. He is black with white on all 4 paws and white on his nose. He is definitly part ragamuffin. We got him at the SPCA. Yesterday my grandfather was running on the treadmill and the cat was jogging beside him, so the cat likes to jog/run. My grandmother wants to name him "Spats" which are white things you put over your shoes, but I think that name is weird. What is your suggestion for a name?

WE HAVE THOUGHT OF SOCKS, BUTTONS, MITTENS, MOZART, LANCE, ZEKE, CHARLIE, ZACK, WHISKA, MAX, BOOTS, AND GARFIELD. BUT MY GRANDMOTEHR DOESN'T LIKE ANY OF THEM
