Vet. Inappropriate urination is one of the first signs of severe problems. Urinary tract or kidney infections, crystals in the urine, blockages, all of these things are severe health issues. Definately take the cat to the vet.

The best advice is to call your vet and ask what their opinion is. There are many possible explanations for her behaviorial problems. Some older cats develop a type of dementia, it could be a medical issue, if there are other pets she could be marking her territory, or she could feel neglected.

I had a female kitty do that for a while and she never had before. When I asked my vet, his answer made me feel so bad for scolding my kitty. I had a new job and at the time I was gone away longer than she was used to. The vet (after making sure there was nothing medically wrong) said that she probably thought I was lost, and was trying to provide a scent trail so I could find my way home since cats use their sense of smell so much. I made sure to give her extra attention, and soon she adjusted to my new schedule and her litter box issues ended.

Good luck with your kitty. :)

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

It could be a bladder problem in which case you might want to take her to the vet, but it could also be your cat's way of demanding attention. Sometimes when an animal feels neglected it will do things to get noticed even if it recieves punishment........bad attention is still attention. This is a more likely cause if your cat is spoiled to you and you may just have been a little too busy lately for its liking.

The main question is how many cats to you have? If you have more than make sure all your litter boxes are kept clean, they don't like using dirty ones. Also it's one box per cat plus one, so make sure you have plenty out. If she pees a lot she could have a thyroid problem, which is simply solved with medication.

usually when a cat has unnessary accidents, it is a sign they are sick. Please place your cat on a organic diet with more wet then dry. Look through the websites for organic food for cats. In time her body will heal and she will stop her accidents.

she may have an inner ear problem or be going blind...would take her to the vet, especially if you have had her for years and this is a recent thing.

good luck
