What should I do....

I have had my cat for 8 years. I think she is about 10 (she was a wild stray when I got her). She is spayed, has all her shots, etc.

She is getting incresingly difficult to deal with.

First of all, she has decided it is OK with her to jump up on my counters, desk, tables, etc. This has never been ok before. I swat her down, but she is right back up there seconds later, yeowling at the TOP OF HER KITTY LUNGS at me.

Second, she pees on things. Random things. It is getting HORRIBLE. She pees on top of my washing machine, and the pee drips down on my freshly cleaned clothes. BTW, her food and water bowls are up on top of the dryer, right next to where she pees. I thought cats didnt pee near where they eat or sleep?

I am getting ready to move in with my boyfriend, and am afraid to bring her in fear that she will bring along her newly formed bad habits! What do I do! She is too old for me to give away (damn it, she is MY kitty). But this has to stop!!!!

Maggie (my Maine Coon) is 13 lbs. She is wonderful, but her fur is everywhere. My fiancee isn't so fond of the shedding. I've had her stomach shaved and it helped a little. He wants me to get "lion cut" for her - where she is all-shaved except her head and feet. Is there any other way to stop the shedding?? i've tried food additives, special food, and i brush her 2-3 times a week.

This morning I accidentally ran over my neighbor's cat. I honestly didn't know she was under my car...usually she runs out when the car starts up but not this morning. I heard the sickening thud and then looked around to find the poor thing having seizures before she died. I'm sick with guilt. I went and told my neighbor I found the cat had been hit by a car, I didn't have the guts to say I did it. The cat belonged to their young daughter who loved it so much. I was aftraid to say I did it because I just moved here recently and I don't want them to think I did it on purpose and I was afraid they might do something to my cat. Am I going to hell??

I do NOT want to spend money. I am not setting traps that i have to buy and then bringing this animal to a shelter. I do not havepets, I do not want pets. I do not want to hurt the cat. But this is the second one who thinks my deck is its home. I am afraid to go outside. What can I put outside to keep them away?

I have a 4 year old cat, and for his first two years, he seemed normal, only slightly shy. About two years, two of our others cats died, and now he seems afriad of his own shadow. He won't come near with a lot of coaxing. Once he's being petted, he seems fine, but if I leave him for more than a second or two, the cycle starts again. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to deal with this?

I have always wondered how cats have sparkling teeth after doing their messy business of eating, napping, chewing, playing or biting. They lick their fur clean, but do they lick their teeth clean?

P.S. : My cat also chews on weeds/lumps of grass in my garden. i have been told by a relative that this is just like a medicinal thing for the cat. A bit like vitamins??

Cats are so easy to care for, and wonderful, and really not much hassle at all. So how is it that so many people obviously don't want to bother taking care of their cats and put them in the shelters instead? I mean I can see giving up a pit bull if it's attacking your children, but what's the problem with a cat?

She has white hair, so you can see it everywhere. It's only been recently that I've noticed the hair falling - is it because she has a new coat forming?

He steals straws from any drinks that are sitting around the house. When he was younger, he would knock the cups over, but now that he's older, he's better at stealing them. He plays with the straws and also plays fetch with them like a dog.

I worry that she'll over heat and dehydrate. She doesn't like electric fans, and won't stay in the coolest parts of the house. Then she is really grumpy!
