I'd get one from a shelter, all have their shots and are spayed/neutered.

Why do you want a kitten from a private party? Cats and kittens in the shelters are wonderful pets. And don't just consider kittens. Cats are wonderful to adopt too. The 'no kill' shelters have a lot of cats and kittens, dogs and puppies. You can even find pedigree cats and dogs there. Shots are given, they're spayed and neutered too. Any future pets I get will be from a shelter. The pet is also checked for diseases which you won't get if you get from a private party.

Yes, I do believe that getting an animal from the humane society is GREAT...
But what I do reccommend is going to your local pound. This is where you will find the animals that are most in need. YES you will have to pay for your shots and spaying/neutering the animal but these animals face DEATH a lot sooner than those babies at the Humane Society. If you choose to get one from a private party, you face the chance of them LYING to you about the condition of the cat, or WHY they are putting it up for adoption. Many strays are due to people finding out their cat/dog has some strange disorder or prefers a certain litter over another....yes it has happened. If you prefer a privately owned cat, be prepared to ask several questions before hand but also be prepared to get incorrect info.
Pound kittens usually get 3 days in their local pound before they are euthenized.

Really yrs ago there were all kinds of ads for free kitties, not anymore.DON'T buy from a pet store,we bought a puppy from one and have nothing but health problems since, there are news reports about all the diffent diseases spread from animal to animal in these stores because the don't have proper ventilation.Either put an ad in your local paper saying that your looking for a kitten,or better yet contact your local humane soc. or dog pound they seem to always have them.Good luck.

Get one from an SPCA. They will already have their shots and will be fixed. Also you will rescue it. There are actually a lot of cute kittens in the shelters. My gram got 2. One is orange and one is gray, she named them honey and sweety. She said that is was cheaper to get them there because they give you a discount on spay/nuetering and shots!

you can find free kitten ads in the paper still. look on sundays...bigger classifieds. you should go to your local shelter and pick out a cute kitten. you would be helping each other out that way. make sure you get your kitten 'fixed' so that we can try to control the pet population. (bob barker plug). good luck!

If you live in the San Fernando Valley, I have three kittens available for adoption: two Russian Blues and a gray & white, they are five weeks old but will be available in four weeks.

shelter kittens come with all their shots...and are spayed/neutered...and in addition to that most cost way less then if you would buy one from a pet shop

Try the humane society, or better yet, Craigslist.com. They are listed on there ALL THE TIME!
