Get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Say no and spray the cat everytime he gets up on the table. If that doesn't work after a while, try adding a touch of vinigar or vanilla flavoring to the water.

We have two cats and the way we've trained them to behave appropriately is rather silly. It's been working for 2+ plus years though.

Whenever they jumped up on the kitchen counter or onto the dining table, we wouldn't yell "no" or wave our finger at them (because they wouldn't respond to that kind of negativity). Instead, we made a high "jah, jah, jah" sound at them and when they heard the loud sound from us, they understood they were doing something wrong almost immediately. It took them a few times (and us putting them on the floor again), but they finally realized that going on the dining table and counter is wrong and don't do it anymore.

Additionally, whenever they do something right, like scratch the scratching post, we praise them and reinforce it. That way they won't try to scratch the leather couch. If they ever scratch something forbidden, then we make that same sound and quickly move them to the scratching post so they know what they should be scratching instead.

Anyway, those are the methods we live by. We don't yell at them or use water in a reprimanding way toward them (they enjoy being given baths in the tub every few months anyway). I hope this helps!

Fill a water spritzer bottle and squirt her whenever she gets on the table then reward her with a treat for getting off the table. Also try putting Cayenne Pepper on the table. It won't harm the cat, but cats hate the smell and taste of it so that may help.

I trained my cats by filling a spray bottle with water and misting them when they jumped onto the table. Every so often they try but now all I have to do is show them the bottle and they jump right off. Good luck!

you can stop him, put a latch on your cabinet doors cuz he gets into anything dangerous to him it could kill him, as far as the table goes, get a little spray bottle fill it with water and everytime you catch him on the table dont yell at him, cuz that dont do no good cats are known to ignore that, lol, trust me mine does, lol, just walk by him casually and then pick up the spray bottle and spray him once with the bottle, if he doesnt get down spray him again and then put him on the floor, water is harsh punishment for cats so they'll know its wrong

Good luck - we have the same problem. Its really hard to break because the slightest tasty tidbit is positive reinforcement, even a crumb or something dripped onto the counter. Keep a spray bottle handy and let him have it every time you catch him. Even then, he will probably do it behing your back, but eventually it will not be as frequent. The other thin is keep the counters really moist for a while with water and lemon juice mixed, they hate wet feet and lemons.

Take a spray bottle filled with water and every time you see your cat going onto the table, give him a couple of squirts. Another solution is to try a product called a scat mat. it's made to keep pets off furniture and starts at 27.99. it emits a low, harmless static charge that pets don't like. Another solution, if you don't like the idea of the scat mat, is to try putting something with a non-toxic tacky surface on your table when you are not using it.Cats don't like sticky things.

Use a good cleaner that uses a citrus smell. Cats hate the smell and normally stay away from it. First try an orange or lemon on the cat by squeezing a peal in it's face if it runs away, there you go. Also works with Christmas trees by putting a little in the water to keep them from drinking from it. (Seven up works good now and it is all limes and lemons)

It may sound like a lot of trouble but this will work. Simply put double stick tape on the table for about 2 weeks.
