Get a big old cat that will just ignore you. Actually, that might not work, because for some reason cats will decide that they love the people who ignore them, so that cat might be all over you. Better not do it.

An old retired veterinarian told me once to go to the nearest shelter, and find a gentle, female, domestic shorthair that purrs in your arms, and likes to play. She will be your perfect
companion!!!! Could be a kitten or older cat.

Go to a shelter or someone with kittens and gather them around and let him or her choose YOU! My Stimpy is Siamese/Tabby, but the breeding is really about Snob appeal. Go with what YOU like and both of you will be happy......

birmans are pretty. or you can rescue a cat or kitten from an animal shelter, you go and look and find one that you think suits you.
