I do NOT want to spend money. I am not setting traps that i have to buy and then bringing this animal to a shelter. I do not havepets, I do not want pets. I do not want to hurt the cat. But this is the second one who thinks my deck is its home. I am afraid to go outside. What can I put outside to keep them away?

Antifreeze, amonia, or anything else that may harm or injure the cat is ILLEGAL! If caught you face a fine and possible jail time!

I would suggest moth balls, another thing that deters cats is orange peels. I don't know why but they hate them. That is how I keep my own cats out of my garden.

Another option would be to contact your local shelters, the pound, ASPCA, Humane Society, or any feral cat program. They will come out and set traps to catch the cats. I have no idea what area you live in. If you'd like to email me with more info I would gladly look up the feral cats groups in your area.

Also, if you make sure there is no food or water for them to get into in your yard then they should leave. They typically only hang around for those two reasons.

Contact animal control in your town and maybe they can bring it to a shelter. Are you sure it's a stray? Maybe a neighbor owns it. Ask around. Antifreeze will not keep the cat away.

First of all, do not use antifreeze. It will kill cats and dogs. Don't be afraid to go outside, that is unreasonable. That stray cat will not hurt you at all. Get some orange peels and spread them around your deck. Cats don't like citrus.

Moth balls may help. Cat's don't like the smell, so they should stay away. If you sprinkle moth balls around the perimeter of your yard, hopefully that will keep them out.

Ammonia may make the cat WANT to pee on your yard, since cat urine contains ammonia.

Not antifreeze...cuppacoffea is a ignorant hilljack b**** who can't spell! Antifreeze kills all animals who come in contact with it!

Moth balls should be harmless or bleach....check a feed store or pet shop, they may sell something pretty cheap that is harmless!

JUST GET A REGULAR WATER GUN, ONE THAT CAN SHOOT A STREAM OF WATER ABOUT TEN FEET. CAT'S HATE WATER, SHOOT THE CAT A FEW TIMES AND HE/SHE WILL MOVE ON.
