I am planning on getting a pug, I have done a lot of research on the breed, but I was wondering if anyone who already has a pug could tell me a little more. ( like are they hyper, are they hard to potty train, can you train them to a potty pad, or do they do better outside, are they more dominant, or passive?) thanks for any advice or info!!

I enjoy watching them - all kinds. A little chickedee surprised me the other day by staying 6 inches from me while I filled the hanging bird feeder.

I also make my own suet. The stuff they sell in the store is expensive & I've had the birds leave the store bought and eat mine instead. Proabably becuase I spoil them as when I make my suet I put in a can of fruit cocktail juice, some peanut butter and honey. I chop up raisins and cranberries and put the fruit from the fruit cup in along with the regular bird seed and sunflower seeds. I've also added corn flakes and cheerios.

I also will half oranges and grapefruits and when I'm done eating them I put the suet in there and hang them in the tree.

Have a Merry Christmas.

so i got my betta a few days ago. hes in a 10 gallon tank filled up half way. when i got him, his head, especially near his gills, is white. i thought it couldve been ich so i went to the petstore and got some aquarium salt. the instructions says put one tablespoon per 5 gallon, and i put half tablespoon because i didnt know how the fish was gonna react. i dissolved it first and put it in slowly. this morning i noticed that the edges of his fins are white and the the tip of the bottom fin is clearish. his fins werent exactly great when i bought him. and there is this lump that is near his gills that i havent noticed before. what is wrong with him and what should i do?

My 2 yr old mix constantly urinates on my bed and has done so on my daughter's bed too. It doesn't matter if we're home or not. First he scrunches the blankets/sheets up. We are fustrated and don't know how to stop it or why he does it. He's very close to me and possessive of me. Could this somehow be something I'm doing wrong? My husband has been putting up with it for now, but don't know how much longer he will. He has also peed on my sofa, but only if there's a blanket or something on there that belongs to someone or has a scent on it. My family thinks he's crazy, but I can't help loving this dog and I keep putting up with it. Is he obsessed with me? Is it a sign of trying to dominate?

OK..clearly, Bully breeds fart more. They snort, and snore, and make all kinds of noise. Really, mine doesn't have a very short muzzle...and she really does not eat fast, but she MUST be taking in a LOT of air because a LOT is coming out!!

So...do Bully breeds have a high occurance of bloat???? She is getting spayed next month, is a gastropexy a good idea for her????? I have Newfs and am aware of the bloat factor with the, but I am not sure how common a concern it is in these breeds. She is an American Bulldog.

He is only 4, a Pekingese. He went in for a surgery a few months ago and came out blind in one eye. Well the other night I let him in the back yard (fenced in) and went to get him about 20 min later and his eye had popped out, well was hanging out. They had to remove his eye so now he is completely blind! I am having the hardest time dealing with this... he is my baby and he is running into everything and acting totally different... he doesnt like some foods and he doesnt play much. He is on medicine right now but will he get better? How long does it usually take for a dog to adjust? I hear stories about blind dogs that are perfectly fine but its still hard.
Any advice would sure help! And thanks!!!

I gave my puppy to a friend. He's AKC registered. But I lost the registration papers! I don't care if it costs money to recover the papers. My friend is giving the dog to her dad. Her dad is a dog breeder, and he NEEDS the papers immediately before he starts using him as the stud.
I don't know what to do for the registration papers. He really does need them, and I've been dicking around for 11 months trying to get ahold of them.
The dogs 'parents' have their papers too. They're both AKC registered...
Come to think of it, I don't even remember if the dog I gave away has papers on him!!
I need some desperate help, how do I find out if the dog has papers? If he doesn't, then how do I get papers on him??
Help!! PLEASE!

OK...I have had a Frenchie...VERY gassy. Now I have an American Bulldog. The dog farts ALL the time. You can hear it. I can say I have never heard one of my Newfs fart. This dog is pretty darn gassy. She eats a high quality food and no table scraps. Is this something particular to Bully breeds, or what? Any suggestions?? Of course this is the dog that sleeps WITH us.

Whenever someone opens the front door, he would just dart out and make us chase after him, he would pause and wait until we catch up and run again. We're very tired of chasing after him sometimes 3 times a day. Is there anything we can do to train him not to?

Just within the past few days he's started drooling and his mouth and nose are all crusty and black/brown. Then this morning, he was cleaning himself and his hair was just coming out in clumps, and he has open skin sores. He's an outside cat, and when I try to pet him or pick him up, he ducks or moves to avoid my touch. He usually loves to be petted and scratched. I'm worried about him, but won't be able to take him to the vet for about a week. Does anyone have any idea? For now, I'm just trying to keep my dogs away from him in case it's a communicable disease or something.

Was it immediately after getting your first dog?
Or did you wait a few months or years?

Additionally, WHY did you choose to breed?

I have a 4month old 20gal tank with mollies/platies and recently added 1 small otocat. There was lots of algae at first but i imagine it cannot last forever. But I can't seem to get him to eat the algae tablets. They sink and he swims away...then the mollies just attack it! How can i get food to the oto without the mollies devouring it themselves? Or is there a way to encourage the algae growth a bit? It is a moderalty planted tank and the mollies love the algea too.
