It happens quite a bit. All I hear about is the pit bulls right at this moment with the Michael Vick thing but Rotts are next in line for the throne. I don't see why. I have owned both these wonderful breeds and they defiantly don't deserve the rap!!! They should ban stupid people not the dogs!!!

i have not noticed it. Most people i run into put rotties in with dobermans.
Most people i run into don't even believe that pits are the spawn of satan anymore. They still believe that they are unpredictable and hard to get a long with, but they do seem to be grasping that it is more of the training and managing by the owners and not the dogs fault when something goes wrong. At least here in southeastern va, that is a by product of the michael vick crap. More people understand pits a little better and are willing to hear almost the truth.

I personally think any dog is a villain if made to be one, though genetics of temperment do come into play.

I love rotties!

Your question is valid. I have not noticed that in my area. We haven't banned any breeds in Nova Scotia, Canada. My aunt has only owned rotties and they're awesome dogs. In my opinion, they shouldn't ban breeds of dogs, they should ban stupid people from owning dogs. I know a lot of little dogs that are WAY more vicious than any of the above mentioned breeds. I guess people think because they're small they don't need to train them. I actually know a beagle down the street that has run out on the road and attacked my aunt’s rottie.

my aunt has a Rott and its the most loving dog. She is very protective, but has never bitten anyone or went after anyone. I think it is all in how the dog is raised as a puppy. If you treat it with love and train them right then they will be good dogs.

I think that it is a question and I can't imagine why it would be removed. I have not noticed that. In our area everyone is still hating on the Pitt Bulls.

Instead of being open to others opinions people will remove the question if they don't like it, how stupid! I agree, people need to not come down on the breed but the owners!

Generally speaking both breeds have bad reputations because they seem to attract irresponsible owners.
