I ran into a website last night, it had pictures of pitbulls and they were huge and I don't just mean muscular I mean they were BIG, Like over 100lbs and they stand as tall as a man... The site says they are pure pitbulls but I remember my vet telling me that pitbulls don't weigh over 80lbs.. Now how the hell did they create a pitbull that big? Are they really purebred or did they cross breed it with another type of dog? Did they give them growth hormone or steroids or something because they look like monsters..

the person is.....shaundawn1723..... this is what she said!

No of course not. My mom though, probably loves her dog more than my dad. But I love my dad more than my mom. Anyways, people have to treat animals right though. I would not, do not, leave my cat or dog outside at all. Unless my dog goes potty of course. I do not think my pets or any pets will die and go to Heaven either. They have no soul like humans.

i dont agree with her one bit! i think that dogs do have souls and do go to heaven! but not according to her... what do u think about what she said???????

This is an age old question about the cat's meow.. but she has been meowing for over 3 years now, she only stops when she is sleeping or eating, she is only one cat in the house and is spayed, but she has done this since she has been born like started at 3weeks old and continues now for years. The vet says she is just vocal, but I think she is crazy, she has meowed so much she losing her voice sometimes and she also can bark like a dog now, she shares a house with 3 dogs... she can almost talk. She is so sweet and never does anything viciouse or malisous. Does anyone know anything about this?

he was left behind with no food no nothing when he was a kitten, I started leaving food & water out on my porch for him and the next thing you know I named him Popeye because of his strength, He had been attacked by a pit bull dog, the dog puntured or bit his right eye, anyway, he stayed but never wanted to come in. his eye swolled up and was all Gray it stayed like that for about 2 yrs, he never acted like it bothered him at all, he is a really loving cat as long as you don't try to pick him up, he does not like to be held anyway. now it seams that his eye has busted right in the center, it had a little bubble on it and that was scratched or something and it seeps a little puss but no blood, I tried to wipe it off a gently as I could with a warm soft cloth. what else can I do for him, he acts like it hurts a little now, he is now 3 yrs. It Breaks my Heart to see him like that, he is so very loving. Deb

OK, here's the situation: You have a really nice puppy that there's a good chance will make a phenomenal brood ***** or stud dog.

You have a buyer who is interested in breeding. This buyer has passed all of your tests and could potentially be a great new breeder and exhibitor in your breed. The buyer's willing to do a co-ownership (or some other agreement that you make). The buyer's also willing and eager to listen to and take your advice.

The problem is that the buyer is in an area where there are few other dogs of the breed. So... the buyer will show, but without competition won't likely ever finish. The buyer doesn't have the means or the inclination to travel hundreds of miles to get that elusive major. The buyer may be willing to travel to the national or one big show a year... but possibly not enough to ever finish the dog.

Is this a good match for your puppy?

My dog just bit my son for the second time, it happened once before about 6 months ago. The dog is old (but still in good health - he's 12 and a mixed shepherd breed) and just wants to be left alone. My son is a very active 5 year old and wants to play. He snapped at my son yesterday & got him really good on the brow bone, piercing the skin and there's bruising all around my son's eye (he didn't get the actual eye, thank the universe). I don't feel safe with my dog around my son. The dog would be heart broken if I gave him away. Should I put him down?

Is this a tos violation and can we do something to get these posters out of this section of the community? I think discussing humane traps or needing help to confront animal cruelty is important and called for but I am very offended by people coming to the rodent section of the pets forum and suggesting that we kill our pets or just rant about how disgusting they are. I doubt these folks would enter the dog or cat sections and make the same comments. Animal cruelty is illegal and I'm not sure why people think it's okay with some animals. They are our pets and I love my pets.

I thought she was thirsty because of hot summer but it seems like she drinks lots of water. Also after she sleeps and wakes up in the morning, her nose is all dried up and find a little "rust" around her nose... what can this be? is she just thirsty or does she have diabetes?

am I too old to get a horse at 31? I live on a farm (beef cows)we have a barn & lots of hay, room to ride, and I have time as a (mostly)stay at home mom. we have already considered the time and $ involved, but what are other things to consider, and how do i learn to understand horses, and how to care for them? how do i learn to work with them? We are looking at an 11y/o mare -1/2 morgan, 1/2 quarterhorse. what do you think? thanks!

I already asked this, but i want to see other people's opinion.

He looks ( and acts ) like a mini or a toy poodle to me. He has very bad tear stains.

I found him wandering around and was very matted (i obviously didnt do a good job shaving himlol).

He weighs around 9 pounds, and is about 11 inches tall.

I was supposed to get him neutered 2 weeks ago but my vet had an accident so i have not been able to get his opinion.

Here are some pics of how terrible his fur was (his whole body was like a sheep lol):

my mom has a black lab (8 and half months old) and he is really destructive..... Does any one know why or how to get them to calm down? he has the whole run of the yard (chain link fenced in) and they bring him in the house everyday for periods of time..... and most of the time, he sleeps in the house at night....but he digs sooo many holes, has chewed up all their plants, tore up their wicker furniture on the porch....

What causes this kind of behavior in dogs.... and how can it be corrected or can it be?? lol

I have a guinea pig but I really want a dog. I grew up with a dog and hate being without one. The apartment I'm renting doesnt allow dogs and believe me I've tried to find a way around it but there are none. I don't have the option of moving for a couple of years but I don't know if I can go that long without a dog. I have tried volunteering at the animal shelter but that makes it worse. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can stop wanting a dog so much?
