I already asked this, but i want to see other people's opinion.

He looks ( and acts ) like a mini or a toy poodle to me. He has very bad tear stains.

I found him wandering around and was very matted (i obviously didnt do a good job shaving himlol).

He weighs around 9 pounds, and is about 11 inches tall.

I was supposed to get him neutered 2 weeks ago but my vet had an accident so i have not been able to get his opinion.

TOY poodle

Here are some pics of how terrible his fur was (his whole body was like a sheep lol):

Look how thick it was:

God bless you for adopting this baby. You have got a silver poodle on your hands. Full blooded poodle. I own three. Love the silvers. His fur will all lighten by about the age of two. Toys are 10 inches from the shoulder down, minis are 10 -15 shoulders down.
Some toy poos can thrown larger pups, and alot of breeders will call them oversized toys. You can tell if they are oversized toys, because they are finer boned, smaller facial structure.
Then mini's can throw smaller mini's, them having shorter stucture in height, but larger boned.

What accident did the Vet have or was it the dog. get him neutered very soon.
I want to invite you to a poodle group I am in,
www.furkids.net
sign up, register, and go to the poodle section.

Oh and yes, his food should be a premium kibble, like Innova, Natural Balance, something with no corn, no wheat, no bi-products. Many dogs are allergic to corn and wheat. All dogs should be on good foods like what I have explained. Check out the site I told you about, many knowledgable poo owners there, including me. LOL

Silver poodles are born all black. Do a search on the color transformation of the silver poodle. Have fun with that baby.

As a professional groomer and I can say that the dog is definitly a poodle. He doesn't look like a toy poodle to me, more like a miniature poodle. If he still has his baby teeth he may be a standard poodle puppy. It's hard to judge his size from your picture, but from seeing many, many, many poodles everyday I can say for sure he is a poodle!

I'm glad you took him in, any dog owner that would allow a poodle to get matted like this is the worst kind of owner. The hair gets pulled tight against the skin when they are matted, can you imagine what it would feel like to have tiny hairs pulling on your skin every time you move...such a horrible way for a dog to live!

He certainly looks like a toy poodle, or at least a poodle mix. Not standard poodle, though; those are much bigger dogs. Pretty sure there is no way to tell if he is purebred, of course, and doubt that he is. Good luck with him. He looks like a sweety. I hope his health proves out good with the vet.

First of all, bless you for rescuing him and giving him a good home. Obviously you care for him very much-he is very lucky that you found him. I think you did a fine job in grooming him. I am sure he feels so much better. I have no doubt that he is a toy poodle. We have one ourselves, and you can just tell that is what he is. I hope you have many years of happiness with him and that he brings you much joy! Our toy poodle is such a character. She has such a diverse personality, and I am sure that you will enjoy him. Best of luck to you.

hes definitely a toy poodle mix.
I personally don't like the breed, but he is very pretty and very fortunate to have found you.
About the tearstains... i have a schipperke and he has bad tear stains too. Believe it or not the vet said that the tears and tearstains are from allergies! Just like with humans - their eyes water the same as ours!
