I have had Bulldogs al my life and they are completely different to any other breed I have ever had. They are very much like little humans, very endearing, sweet, sociable and can be very funny, especially when they are stubborn - they can be quite headstrong! They are amazing to look at and are a real crowd puller. They do not need much exercise. They DO need quite a bit of human company and attention so would not be great left alone all day. They are not too good in very hot weather and can have breathing difficulties due to their facial structure. They can cost quite a bit at the vets. They are thoroughly rewarding and a wonderful friend but do go to a reputable breeder where you see pup with mother. Do your research first - a G.S. is such a different dog, wonderful in their own way but they are bigger and need more exercise for instance. How about contacting animal rescue shelters in your area or even centres that specialise in re-homing these two breeds, they would give you all the info on the breeds and find you a dog too? Good luck and best wishes what ever you decide but take your time don't rush into a decision, the dog is with you for years.

As I understand it a "dirty bomb" is made up of radioactive material. They would give out energy in the form of radiation. High frequency electromagnetic waves that can penetrate cells and most other material, they are like x rays only have much faster wave lengths.

Dogs smell hydrocarbons or aromatics mostly compounds. I am not sure they would be able to detect particles, it is like trying to smell light or radio waves. Although if the material used had a trace smell they cold be trained. But most radioactive material are pure rare earth metals or elements with large proton/neutron pairs that form isotopes such as radon, so there is no smell.

Them French poodles would get dirty with anything even a bomb! But it would have to be a bombshell stunner like that dog DFA he rains from the sky to clean up our streets of filthy leg humpers such as Jack russells in the bins for dirty magazines.

There are certain breeds known for their sense of smell. The Blood Hound for one. There are always exceptions to the rule but it all depends on the dog.

One can put a dog through sent training but if the dog doesn't have the nose for it then the training stops.

I had a female Doberman that was trained in everything except bomb detection. She was taught regular Police Dog training & went beyond the norm. For my purposes she did not need to be trained for bomb detection.

Sent training is easy to teach but the dog really needs to have the nose for it to be good at it. Breed makes no difference if they have the nose for it.

Hahhahahaa Thanks for the laugh, buddy, though I suspect you are indeed barking up the wrong tree. Better get a new leash on life before someone collars you. LOL Maybe we can find a way to harness your creativity by training you to sniff out bad jokers/punsters? Does that make any scents?
