My friend moved from the UK to New Zealand earlier this year. I'm a keen horse owner, and she has just bought one in NZ, I'd like to send her a little xmas pressie that is horse related and not too heavy - any ideas?! (I realise this is in the wrong category but I only really want horsey answers from horsey people!!) Thanks in advance x

A really nice Breyer model of a horse she might like would be nice. Even for older people, models are good for decor or play.

I would look around on the internet and even google
"horse gifts" - you never know what youd come across. However, I would even look around at Hallmark and see about maybe a candle holder with horses, a table centre peice or something simple like that. There are so many neat ideas for horse gifts for a horse lover youve just got to look around a little - go to a local tack store and see what sort of gift ideas they have, sometimes you can find really awesome stuff in there as well!

EDIT***
Dont forget to send a little something for her equine friend also! :) - Maybe make some homemade horsey cookies if youre feeling really ambitious, or if not, just run into a local tack store and get a small bag of apple treats! - Spice it up with a nice red bow or something nice!

Good Luck - and marry early christmas! : 0)

OK, she has just moved to New Zealand, so if you order something from there, the shipping will be nothing compared to what it would be from here.

There are a lot of shops, some I'm sure much closer to where you friend is located than others...you might even order a stall plate with her new horse's name on it, that's always appropriate...or...what ever her discipline is, get a breyers, same breed and color as her horse with the appropriate tack...again, low shipping from NZ.

A parelli DVD? Even if she's not keen on actually learning and doing it- it will knock her socks off when she watches the horses doing those amazing things- like running into a trailer with a rider on top, dressage, and lifting a rider onto its back by its neck....
Some of the simpler things may improve her relationship with her horse too.

You could send her some horse treats or new Jodphurs or something, even though you might send just a small horsey thing I'm sure she'd still appreciate it :o) xx

Really depends what she already have. The Breyer horse is a good idea, but, it also another horse to take care of, keeping it dusted. I think a nice Grooming Tray with some Brushes, Curry Comb and few other things within your price range be nice.

I not in the UK, but, I think this link is;

May be able to have them mail it to your friend.
Well, I looked to learn more. Most of what I clicked on is eBay.uk
I like this;

I can send you my address if you want! LOL! I really do like this. :-p

They have these buckets that you can buy that are filled with items for your horse. You should look into those.....and I agree with the Halter idea.....you can never have to many halters.....um leather cleaner, horse treats, new grooming brushes, polo wraps, the list just keeps going on and on lol....here's a website that has horse tack and horse related items for people......they also have a gift shop that you may want to check out

You could get her a personalized computor mouse mat. You can order them over the internet, you just need to down load a photo, maybe of you and your horse, or her favorite horse, and it will be printed onto a mouse mat. They are usually about £6-£7 so not expensive and light to post. She can then be reminded of you every time she uses her computor.

Here's a list of ideas on Liverystable.net's horse-talk forum. http://liverystable.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10

My pick would be order a matching halter and lead, engraved with her horse's name or stable name. You can order them from State Line Tack. Good luck!
