Sometimes dogs are just really thirsty, so it may be nothing.
If there's a problem, there should be other symptoms, like being more lethargic than usual.
I am sorry but I have no idea what you're describing when you say a little "rust" around her nose...
You sound worried, and so I think the best solution would be for you to take the dog to the vet

My dad has a yolkshier terrier and he drinks more water then my stepmom's dog which is a big terrier. If you have been excersing alot with the dog she might just be dehidrayted. The dry nose thing may just be do to the change in season. If you think there's something wrong with her though and she appears to get worse the best thing to do would be taking her to a vet.

It could be anything... from diabetes to a kidney problem to too much salt in her diet to absolutely nothing. Have the vet check her out.
Example: my dog had the same beginning symptoms, it turns out he has Addison's Disease... Its a rare disease & it took over a week for the vet to properly diagnose it. The symptoms just got worse and worse, he almost died & he would have without the blood test to let us know what medications he should take. There is NO WAY you could possibly tell what is wrong with your dog without testing it's blood.

If you have water down all the time then a dog will drink it almost every time it walks by it.
It is normal for a dogs nose to be slightly dry when they wake up.

You should definitely have your baby checked out- my aunts dog drinks excessive amounts of water, and he has some kinda disease-sry that I can't remember the name( Hotchkins-Hodgekins maybe??)- but it is not a good sign- Tell the vet over the phone anything unusual going on w/ your Yorkie, and see if you can have labwork done ASAP- best of luck- I hope everything ok- but when it comes to our "kids" we can't take any chances! =)

my diabetic cat drinks and pees 5 times more than normal cats. he sleeps a lot too...but that is common for cats. you should take a pet in...but if you don't already have pet insurance you should get it before he gets diagnosed with it. pet insurance doesn't cover existing conditions.

Only your vet will know for sure. Don't wait too long to check it out. Your pets body is telling you something.
